Belvedere awoke to a misery he couldn’t explain, as if he’d experienced a great and terrible loss while he slept. His only clue, his only hope for regaining control over his life, is a curious image in his mind, an image he needs to draw.

Twilight awoke in a different world, a world where a dim sun never sets, where magic is scarce, where monsters haunt every shadow. Her only aid, her only friend, is a stallion named Belvedere who’s just as lost as she is.

The time is a thousand years ago. A time before Canterlot, before Ponyville. After the last threat to Equestria was resolved ponies fell into a routine of peace. Princess Luna's role in ruling Equestria diminished over time as her sister took on more and more responsibility.

Falling into despair over the lack of attention rendered to her by her little ponies, Luna was ready to throw in the towel. Then she had a chance encounter with a pegasus mare and earth pony couple which renewed her desire to live for Equestria. Only to have her sister throw up a road block.

Can Luna hold onto the dream or will it be crushed like so much of her past?

Starlight has invited Trixie over to her room to show her something. Something that she hasn't shown any pony in a long time. This prompts Trixie to ask a question that's always been on her mind. Why did Starlight go so far for Sunburst? Why did him leaving crush her so much?

Starlight isn't the only on with a secret though. Trixie has a secret as well, one that she's been thinking of finally revealing to her very best friend whom she has a serious crush on. But like with Starlight, this is a big secret, and it might be too much for Starlight to handle.

When the truth comes out, will these two friends be able to look at each other the same again? Or will the truth only bring them closer than ever.

The Elements of Harmony alone aren't enough for Twilight to forge the path of Friendship Magic. Perhaps it's time for her to hand the limelight to someone else!

Flan became small again, that's cute.

Remilia is on the end of it, that's painful.

She got an idea, that's good.

Give the ponies a chance to fix Flan's biting behavior, that's genius.
