On the outside, White Lightning the pegasus and Ponet the unicorn have a perfectly normal, perfectly fine relationship. At the very least, a meek and nondescript weather pony going out with an artiste harbouring high aspirations is... well, there have been stranger combinations in Equestria.

Unfortunately, things are a little more complicated than they seem, and neither side can fully open up to the other. Not even on Hearts and Hooves Day.

White Lightning doesn't think like other ponies. Heck, she doesn't even speak; she's happy enough quietly hiding in the background. So when an overambitious boss tries to organize a spectacular storm, she's not exactly well-equipped to deal with it…

Flying to her home she shares with her wife, Raindrops spots a homeless filly in an alley way on a Ponyville street preparing to sleep. She decides to intervene. But her wife said she wasn't sure on having a foal around yet.

White Lightning decides to take a trip on a hot air balloon (despite being a pegasus) and ends up having a nice conversation with the pony flying it. One a Pegasus who wishes she were a Unicorn and one an Earth Pony who wishes she were a Pegasus
