Fair warning to all you hardcore Lotr fans, I’ve only seen the movies and briefly skimmed through the books. (And fan wikis/videos) So my knowledge on the lore is a bit limited. Sorry if that’s an inconvenience. Also my first attempt at a semi-serious fic. Please no hate, but fair criticism is welcome. Don’t expect frequent updates.

A month has passed since Tirek's defeat for Twilight and the Elements of Harmony, but one call changes everything. An invitation made by Lord of the Underworld, king over Tartarus (and last of the Balrogs). Will he be a friend or an enemy of Equestria?

The day starts out like any other, until Sunny Starscout purchases a most peculiar book. She brings it back to her friends for a little book club, until the book itself transports them to the land of Middle-Earth. There, they become involved and a part of the Company of Thorin Oakenshield, and by extension alongside Bilbo Baggins. Along the way, they encounter a plentiful of beings and creatures such as Elves, Hobbits, Dwarves, wizards, and a Skin-Changer; but also the Orcs of Gundabad, the Goblins of the Misty Mountains, and the great Fire-Worm that stole Erebor all those decades ago.

Not only with the Mane 5 risk their own lives and their friendships, but also discover more about themselves.

Hazen Smith was your average young man. He has lived a pretty decent life thus far, and now he is currently attending the college of his dreams at Oxford University.

But his life gets overturned when he learns from an old man in a bar that he is none other than the Dark Lord of Mordor; Sauron, the Lord of the Rings.

Surely you shouldn’t trust old men in bars right? So what happens when Hazen awakens as you guessed it Sauron, with all of his memories back to boot. Is this his second chance for a new life? One where he can bring himself a purpose of goodness when all he has ever done was tear others down? Why is he trapped on a world of mythical creatures, and what does this world have to offer that can bring him the purpose that he so desires?

It's been a while since Twilight and the gang returned from Middle Earth, and they've decided to teach its lore and history at their newly opened School of Friendship, and their students love it! One pony most intrested with Middle Earth is Sunset Shimmer, who has returned to Equestria for a long deserved break. The whole idea of new magic and grand quests fascinates her, and leaves her wishing that she could've been there. And after some unforeseen anomalies with the Dimensional Mirror, she gets her wish.

But something is wrong. Bilbo seems younger, and no one has ever heard of Equestria. It appears that she has not only traveled to Middle Earth, but went back in time as well! Now she must help 13 dwarves and a hobbit slay a dragon to get their home back, all the while more, try to find a way back to Equestria.

One night, after her parents are asleep but she herself can't fall asleep, Sweetie walks outside to look at the stars, and there she meets a very old person, with a story that is just as ancient to tell.

In the fires of mount doom, a ranger and a wraith crafted a ring of power that would challenge the dark lord, but by creating a new ring it brought six unusual ponies to Middle-Earth.

Now they must work together, for talion and celebrimbor to defeat Sauron, and for his new six friends to find a way back home.
