(Takes place before "Friendship is Magic".)

Pinkie Pie has just met and befriend Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and is excited at the prospect of getting to live in the bakery that they own. However, she has to first get the okay from her parents to stay in Ponyville.

Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz agree to visit Ponyville to talk with Pinkie's potential new caretakers, which is great cause for concern for Pinkie given that the filly has a complicated relationship with her parents.

What will Igneous and Cloudy have to say on the subject of their daughter leaving the rock farm before her time? And what will Mr. and Mrs. Cake think of the unusual behaviors of the Pies?

It started with two families and a decision for a filly and colt to be brought together.

From the arrangement, a marriage was had and true love was farmed, growing into a family and a strong bond that would last for years to come. 

On quiet nights when it was just the two of them, Cloudy and Igneous put on an old record, dance, and reminisce.

When the Pie family visits Maud for the holidays, their holiday plans are interrupted by a panicking Starlight Glimmer who finds her friends meant to put on the yearly Heart's Carol performance for the School of Friendship.

With only Pinkie spared, Starlight needs five new actors. Pinkie happens to have five family members visiting. It's perfect!...hopefully.

A collab with Switch Swap

Our roles in this story were basically split. Switch Swap came up with most of the ideas and I did most of the writing. Story is on this account by Switch's choice.

Ever wondered why Pinkie Pie has all these crazy abilities, like "Pinkie sense", being able to physically break apart and stay alive, and tie her neck into a knot, etc.? And isn't it a bit bothersome that she won't tell you?

Well, truth be told, the reason she won't reveal it is because she herself doesn't know. For real. She's always just brushed it off as "something she has."

But one day, while visiting her family, a fun sister moment turns into possibly the deepest conversation the Pie family has ever had, where the big icebreaker answers the blue-fire-burning question, but also leads to the reveal of a fact that Pinkie and Maud are deeply hit smack-dab in the heart by.

Maud Pie's not like most ponies. That's okay. She has a wonderful Ma and Pa, a sister coarser than sandstone but who still gets her, and she has rocks. Rocks make sense, unlike ponies. Rocks always tell you everything about them from the outside.

This unicorn filly is the opposite of making sense. She's dirty and hungry. She prefers to talk about Maud over herself, something nopony else does around Maud for long. And despite her age, she doesn't have a cutie mark.

Still, Maud's not one to look some gift quartz in the mouth. Maybe this stranger can help her. Herself too, for Maud's idea involves rocks. And rocks always cheer Maud up.

At Mudbriar's funeral, Starlight Glimmer struggles to be a friend; she and Maud reflect on roads not taken. (Igneous and Pinkie provide flavour, rock and candy-based respectively). Also, there is the mirror lake....

Guards, Sheriff's deputies, and reporters all swarm around the Pie family's home. One reporter interviews a local, who's more than happy to ramble on about his neighbors and their shocking secret...

Huzzah, it's Hearthswarming! That means sweets, decorations, and songs abound in the Pie family household. Or it would, if Pinkie wasn't away in Ponyville for a baking internship. So if she's unable to provide such a festive atmosphere, who will preserve the joy of Hearthswarming?

Limestone will.

She probably won't like it.

Sometimes we choose who we fall in love with, sometimes life chooses for us. Minuette and Limestone Pie find themselves coming to grips with the latter.

Note: This takes place after the series finale. More specifically, after Twilight's coronation, but before the time skip, so expect a few spoilers. Also features Lyra, Sweetie Drops (or Bonbon), Moondancer, Twilight Sparkle, Princess Luna, Cloudy Quartz, September (y'know, the comic background cameo from Fringe), and doubtless many more in the future the way things are going. I even plan on big things happening for and to some of them.
