Scootaloo arrives home one day, breathless and asking Auntie Lofty to do a presentation for Family Appreciation Day. Unfortunately, Scootaloo only wants the one part of Lofty's life she's not that eager to share.

An MLP FIM fan fiction writer and super mega nerd who while in her Autumn years wakes up in the ruins of the Castle of the Two Sisters and finds that she is a filly named Kitsumi Nova. The very character she'd created just for fun. Her first obstacle will be to find her way to civilization.

From there the story becomes a slice of life where our former human must live out the life of a pony who is also a young alicorn. And if that's not enough, she is Nightmare Moon's daughter and fears what will happen if she presents herself at court. Will she be reunited with Princess Luna and reconciled with Princess Celestia? Will she go back to earth when the opportunity arises, and who wants Sunset Shimmer dead? OK, there's a long list for that last one.

Yes, this did start out as a blatant self insert. Originally I started it as an exercise in the first-person narrative and really had no intention to publish it. Ever. After a while, the main character morphed into someone older than myself and a bit more accomplished. Reasons for doing this is because, well, let's face it, I'm a deeply private individual and prefer to have that layer of insulation. There is also the issue where many of my life experiences simply don't fit the character I wished to portray.

The story itself is loosely based on my other Kitsumi Nova stories and is its own independent story in its own dimension within the Kitsumi Nova Multiverse. It also predates the Mustang sisters Nova and Summer. There will be comedy, and there will be poignant moments sure to tug at the heartstrings.

The story itself has seen several major rewrites and was even abandoned for a while.

There will be one chapter in which the more squeamish may wish to skip over containing borderline gore and outright nightmare fuel. Granted that the more jaded readers probably won't even blink an eye.

Fifteen years ago a mysterious wave of energy struck the Earth in what is now known as the Great Collision. Aside from the one crater left in Pinpoint Park it didn't seem to have any effect though. On that very same day Scootaloo was discovered on her moms doorstep and now that she's grown she can't shake the feeling that the two events are related, so when her two best friends in the world ask what she wants to do for her fifteenth adoption day she simply says, "I want to look for answers."

Those answers may lead to even more question though as they discover strange creatures called Bakugan and the larger then life game that can be played with them. What does all this mean and how does it relate to Scootaloo... well only way to find out BAKUGAN BRAWL!

Lofty doesn’t reply to that. The sky flashes white and a roar of thunder sweeps them up. “Are you sure you wanna do this?”

“Yes!” Her voice cracks.

“Holly. I don’t think you do.”

“I do.” It comes far weaker this time. Her grip on the wheel falters.

Lofty sighs. She puts a hoof on Holiday’s shoulder. “It’s not too late to turn around,” she whispers.

Scootaloo hasn't fully made her peace with not being able to fly, not just yet. A part of her is still convinced that she can fly if she tries hard enough, all she has to do is find a way to get herself off the ground.

The problem is, she's exhausted all conventional methods. And the only method she can think of is one that her aunts think is too dangerous, launching herself and her scooter into the air at high speed!

But Scootaloo isn't one to take no for an answer! She'll fly if it's the last thing she does! But will her effort be successful? Will she survive the fall if it doesn't? And how will those closest to her react to learning about such a dangerous display?

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle have made a new friend in the form of fellow blank flank Apple Bloom. Naturally, the friends have decided to have a sleepover, and Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom want it to be at Scootaloo's house.

Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, especially since Sweetie Belle's already been there. However, Scootaloo's parents have been called out of town, so she's been left in the care of her Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty. And Scootaloo is a bit hesitant to introduce her new friends to the aunts.

But Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle persist, so it seems Scootaloo has no choice but to oblige. It means her aunts will get a chance to meet her new friends personally.
