The Cutie Mark Crusaders have just about had it. They’re dying for adventure; thirsty for a little action that will spice up the mundaneness of their ordinary Ponyville lives. So when an interdimensional rift unexpectedly opens to another world inhabited by alien beings who share their feelings (and look suspiciously similar to ducks), their wishes might just be coming true. Both parties eagerly agree to switch places for a day to get a taste of what the others’ world is like. From barbaric Beagle Boys to truculent timberwolves, what could possibly go wrong?

This wacky tale is a crossover with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the highly popular DuckTales 2017 reboot. Both being beloved reboots based on classic 80’s TV series, this hilarious story is an adventure for all to enjoy. Loaded with the humor and streak of heart both shows are known for, it is sure to entertain readers of all ages and leave them singing Woo-oo!

Note: This story takes place between “Brotherhooves Social” and “Crusaders of the Lost Mark” of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and “The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck!” and “The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!” of DuckTales. Includes minor spoilers from all previous episodes. You have been warned.

Chrysalis, after getting covered in milk and cereal, and being forced to take a bath, discovers a new interest. Ducks.

Much to her partner, Tempest’s, dismay, she becomes slightly obsessed with ducks. How will this pan out? I dunno. Well, I do, but uh, I’m not telling you.

~~~
Alright, so, this is an entry into the 2022 Crackship Contest. Also, today’s my birthday! Hooray!
So, you may be wondering, “Hero, why is the story so short?”
Well uh, to be completely honest, I kinda wanted to post this on my birthday (today) and I yesterday, and I also had a horrid case of writer’s block. So, I can up with the most simple story I could make.
Ooh, also, um.. if this does really well, I might do a Crackship series of my own. Or I might just continue with Tempest and Chrysalis being lesbians. Or maybe I’ll just continue this. Iunno.
Anyway, that’s all I have to say, enjoy.
Pacesetter may not have grown up around the railroad, but she took to it like a duck to water. Or rather, coal to a steam engine. After working for a few hard years as a "Brakepony", the lowest rung in regards to train crews, circumstance aligns just right to promote her all the way to "Conductor" and be in charge of her own train and crew. Thinking the hardest is now behind her, she is rudely awakened to the reality of both being a brand new conductor and having to deal with her misfit of a crew. Railroad shenanigans ensue as we start around the later half of Season 1 of FIM, and work our way to the events of 5s/4: HighBall.
This is being written as a prequel of sorts to that story, as it's author RR Brony and I have been friends for a long time. He is directly responsible for bringing me back into the fandom, and through helping sort ideas for that story, I realized I had my own I wanted to tell of the characters. Hence this, a look into the railroad world of Equestria as I like to see it. My goal is to not base this off any previous fanfiction that may cover the same idea, so I apologize if previous existing head cannons of Equestrian Railroading aren't mentioned. The style of railroading involved, for those of you curious, is based off of my own experience working trains here in North America. I have written this in such a way that I hope both those who also have working experience themselves as well as those who have not yet ridden a train in their lives can enjoy it.
If that all sounds good, you can get your ticket on the train.
All Aboard!
Twilight Sparkle is a seemingly normal Unicorn. Sure she's the Element of Magic, leader of the Bearers of Harmony (affectionally called the Main 6) and has been the personal student of Princess Celestia since she was 10, but other than that she's just a normal Unicorn.
But that's all about to change.
It started off when she dreamed of a strange place full of stained glass and dark, shadowy creatures, and a voice telling her that she would be the light that would save this world.
And then the dark storm came, and the shadowy creatures from her dreams became a lot more real.
Fortunately, that was the moment she unlocked her own power: a weapon of light called a Keyblade.
Unfortunately she ends up being separated from her friends, and her world exploded. Quite literally.
And then she awakes to meet a duck who's a sorcerer, a dog who's the captain of their knights, and a mouse who also wields a Keyblade and happens to be the King of the "World" she was on.
Oh, and she's now a human.
So all in all, normal for Twilight has just gone out the window.
After getting a crash course in Heartless, Nobodies, Keyblades (which includes the adventures of their one friend Sora) and the ongoing fight between the Light and the Dark, Twilight sets out to find her friends and hopefully find a way to restore Equestria. And maybe make some new friends along the way.
But in the shadows, sinister forces conspire against her, and she may find out that her greatest enemy is the one she'd never suspect.
Will Twilight Sparkle prevail? Or will her Heart fall to the darkness?
The only way to find out is to read the tale of Twilight's Awakening.
Okay, so a bit of spoilery stuff to get out of the way quick:
-This story starts during Magical Mystery Cure, but immediately goes AU when they cast Starswirl's Unfinished Spell. You'll see what I mean.
-Kingdom Hearts-wise, the story takes place during the events of Dream Drop Distance. Mostly because I haven't played Kingdom Hearts 3 yet, so I can't write about anything that happened in that.
-Certain worlds that Twilight visits in this story will have their stories diverge from canon after she appears. But I don't think anyone will notice since that's already happened in the actual Kingdom Hearts games. I'm looking at you, Aladdin and Hercules.
-Some of the worlds that appear will be from Disney franchises that haven't appeared yet, but there will also be some worlds that aren't from Disney properties. I'd tell you which ones, but that would just be spoiling the surprise. :twilightsmile:
Hope you guys enjoy the story!
Family is a complicated thing, it comes with all sorts of expectations, hopes, and unsolicited advice.
It also implies an abundance of drama, this time involving a Changeling Queen, an unlucky messenger and, at least tangentially, a rubber duck.
The scope of the multiverse is so tremendously beyond the comprehension of most beings that, if they were to truly know what it meant, they would break down and be unable to live their lives the way they wished. Most worlds are lucky to be blissfully unaware of the true picture of reality, never to encounter the higher forces and civilizations.
However, when one of those higher forces make contact with one of those unaware worlds - intentionally or not, peacefully or not - everything will change drastically. Sometimes the change is slow, sometimes rapid. Regardless of the pacing, like all change, it is both good and bad. Civilizations have risen from simple worlds overnight and have crumbled just as quickly. Many can't handle the revelation, and those that can are not always the best examples of honor and dignity.
It is often said that each world - each universe - has a Song, and that all these Songs are related, intertwining together in a mesh of powerful destiny among the Spheres of the multiverse.
This is the story of how a certain world inhabited by Technicolor ponies found their Song and how it interwove itself in the Songs of so many others.
This is a story of finding meaning in infinite possibility.
This is a mega-crossover project of immense proportions covering dozens of fandoms. However, it is written in such a way that no previous knowledge of any of them - not even the ponies - will be required. The only warning is that there will be spoilers for any franchise you haven't seen.
There are several side-stories being written for Songs of the Spheres by several authors, and links to them can be found in our Fimfiction group, including links to non-pony related stories. There's also a Discord chat. Lastly, we have a Spacebattles forum. Discussion about the multiverse, setting, and future events can also be found there if you don't mind spoilers.
The world as we know it was on the brink of war fifteen years ago. Tensions were high, government officials had been assassinated, and Equestria, Griffonia, and essentially the rest of the entire Earth was teetering on the edge of global conflict. At the last second, however, an armistice was set forth, and peace showed up just in time. This consequently led to the now troublesome presence of the new wartime inventions, ranging from the deadly machine guns, to—as countless as they were—the battle-ready tanks.
The research and time spent working on such vehicles would be a waste ending up simply scrapped... so the leaders of the world all thought up one thing. A sport, you could call it, waged every year across the globe, with no boundaries, no real rules, and lots and lots of explosions.
Duck Bill never liked being born into a family of Tank Warudo warriors, and, honestly, she didn't really like the idea of Tank Warudo in the first place, but if her entrance into this year's competition meant a long overdue victory for the Ponyville Horsepowers, she could handle a crew of boneheads for awhile.
Thanks to my good pal Phoenix of Aurelius for being a consultant on all things tank! Thanks buddy! Panzer vor!
Those cute little tanks in the cover art are also shamefully lifted from the Tanks Encyclopedia! Please go and show them some love. They work really hard, and have unknowingly helped me immensely!
