Firework Daze - a macaroni-colored pony with a salsa, blueberry and bubblegum pink mane, born with fangs like no other. Living off the grid with only an unsentimental slingshot to their name. They have been living in nature for the past four years now. But after eating a pair of neighboring squirrels one day suddenly things take a turn for the unknowingly.

Commerce and labor are the lifeblood of economics, great and small, and today's world in and out of Equestria was no exception: even though bits are standard currency in their native homeland, lighter packages are still possible, especially regarding exchange; however, the concept of honest wages are still alienated for an alarming percentage of individuals, many who have turned to a life of crime and villainy.

Once upon a time, there were a trio of suitcases being pursued by a band of traitors to their nation, whether one world or another; now, one remains and along with it, one survivor, frustrated by an otherwise best laid plan thwarted by unforeseen consequences as is: it wasn't enough for one to be lost in the landmass, now another individual has stumbled across its contents and conspiratorial cutthroats.

Enter a tree stump, stuck in a desert along a horse with a name and an injury in dire need of treatment from the former's perspective: little is know about the latter except for the color of tresses and coat, not it'd done much good so to speak despite breathing freely; either way, as far as they're both concerned, by and large, regarding the scheme, to quote a junkie's words, "he can't keep getting away with this...!"

This is an alternate-universe retelling of Twilight Sparkle's journey from snarky misanthrope to sole ruler of Equestria as the Princess of Friendship, in a world of monsters and monster-hunters.

Every so often, when Twist misses the old days, she heads over to Sweet Apple Acres. Not to bother any of the Apples, of course. No, she simply hangs out amongst the wild mint at the farmland's edge, right where overgrown grass gives way to forest. Somewhere away from ponies, away from thoughts.

So she's never met someone there, until now.

The National Dessert competition: one of the biggest events of the Equestrian culinary world and a mecca for both practitioners and enthusiasts of the sugary arts, drawing gourmets of all sorts not just for the chance to see some of the greatest chefs on the planet and their creations, but for the many vendors and stalls ready to satiate the appetites that will inevitably be excited.

In particular, this year, aspiring confectioner Twist and professional overeater Truffle Shuffle are in attendance, looking to enjoy their day and date together. After all, for a couple like that, could there be a more perfect or romantic setting?

Of course, little do they know the day will have far more in store for them than that: awkwardness, anxiety, a touch of soul-searching and no small amount of fear. However, on the other side, there may be something far greater than could ever have been hoped for. But even with her coltfriend's help, will the ever-timorous Twist be able to get there? She'll just have to see.

Oh, also, someone's trying to kill one of the contestants, but that's probably not relevant to anything.

This story is in continuity with the Iota Force series, taking place after the upcoming seventh story, but absolutely no knowledge of that or any other entry in the series should be necessary for this story.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are hosting a slumber party, guaranteed to be all sorts of entertaining!

Babs is the first to arrive, and she notices something off about how the hosts are acting, but thinks nothing of it. It's not until she accidentally discovers all the tickle toys that they have in their room that things get awkward.

Of course, seeing an opportunity for fun, Babs decides to take the sleepover in a different direction...

There are some things, however, some ponies, that she will always have time for, such as that little red-headed filly gazing through her window of her boutique.
