Unable to sleep lately, Sunset is advised by her friends to go see the school counselor. Reluctant at first, Sunset gives in, and soon realizes a lot of things about herself, her friends, and her past.

At Sweet Apple Acres, Andy, after telling Pinkie Pie about his family, finds himself sat against a tree as he watches the sunset, trying to collect his thoughts on his position in Equestria. Applejack soon finds him, and offers an open ear. Being a family orientated mare herself, she has some words to exchange with him.

Applejack's entire life is on Sweet Apple Acres. All her time and energy is devoted into making sure her farm is in the best shape it can be in. Every hour she can spend making her farm and her work better isn't time wasted to her.

Life isn't all about working, though, and Applejack knows this. She can make time for friends, family, fun, and life later though. She's got plenty of time and it'll all happen eventually, right?

Growing up with only one parent is never easy. But when Trixie goes to Las Pegasus to meet her father, she wonders if knowing one parent was better than knowing both of them.

Sequel: Singular's Demise

In a dusty town within the desert plateau to the far south, a person sits, complaining about the changelings' fate. He mentions many things, and the barkeep is stuck listening until closing hour. While most things this traveler says sounds ridiculous, his words don't come off as drunken stupor and some things ring true in a very strange and distant way.

His attachments to the now-reformed changeling hive comes off as someone mourning a great loss, and he speak of his tales with that brood...while also inferring something more disturbing in the process.

As Starlight is having a nightmare, Princess Luna intervenes to aid her. In doing so, she winds up revealing something highly personal to Starlight. Both ponies see how much they can learn about themselves and each other simply through a dream.
