Ever since she was a young foal, Starlight has wanted to become the most powerful unicorn in Equestria. After years of study, she's finally ready to prove herself by making contact with the one pony she believes can help her achieve this goal: King Sombra.
But King Sombra isn't the only thing waiting on the other side of that door.

When Rarity is mining for gems, she comes across a very strange looking stone. Little does she know until it's too late, the stone change s her life forever... by ending it! Now no longer just another normal unicorn, but a Lich, a horror Equestria hasn't seen in ages, Rarity must figure out how to either break this curse, or convince everypony that she means them no harm!

Sweetie Belle gets a diary for her birthday. At first, it seems like it's a perfectly normal diary. As the days go on, however, she begins to realize that the Diary is anything but normal...

"I thought you would still be there for me. I guess not." Twilight Sparkle was reported the first. Many more following. You wonder how much of Equestria's legends you really know.... Some are forgotten, some are forbidden to speak of... Some are even buried into history purposefully. However, one journal with an unknown writer was found at Twilight's library. Here, some ponies have said, was where her death report was found after being lost.

Some ponies have wondered if mare mentioned above has tried to commit suicide before, but there is no evidence to back this up, so this option was discarded. Ponies believe that Twilight was poisoned, but I doubt that. The doctors performed an autopsy to figure out how she died, but nothing showed up. In this journal contains odd handwriting, but no pony knows who (or what) the handwriting belongs to. Another journal was found that was written by Twilight Sparkle herself, but some pages are missing, it looks like. The writer of the first journal sounds as if he or she was never in Equestria before, but knows how things go down. It doesn't seem natural.

So when the day came, he knew that nothing would stand in the way of his quest for revenge. All he needed was her location and a meal to satisfy the hunger of him and his ilk. Luckily, there just happens to be a place where they can feast...

The ocean remains to be the greatest mystery left unsolved in the world. Intent on cracking the case wide open, Professor Moondancer took it upon herself to figure it out, following in the first steps of so many who had failed to do so before her. As the questions began piling in and all seemed lost, however, there came a miracle, and with it, comes knowledge that had never seen the light of day.

With it, comes the answers she needs to understand everything.

With it, comes the only truth left worth knowing.

WARNING: this story goes into much darker, much grosser, much weirder and, on all aspects, more graphically descriptive in later chapters. If the idea of Lovecraftian body horror alone, among many other grotesque things, does not appeal to you, then I advise you to stay far, far away from this story.

This story is Cthulhu-free, despite it seeming otherwise.

Based on a story idea someone suggested

Queen Novo banishes Twilight and her friends to the deepest reaches of the ocean. In this dark and desolate place of water and silence, giving in to one's animal instincts seems like the obvious course of action.

Thus Spike awakens, trapped and alone in an unfamiliar place. But as he quickly learns, it's a lot worse than that.

Somewhere in the land of dreams, where mortals cannot tread, the Night seeks a being of legendary dread. A boogeypony many believe is long dead. What is Truth and what is lies? And should it be the dark that is despised?

A myth of the past is sought by the Night, as a long gone terror is freed from its plight. Rumors of ages long gone reappear, whispers of a monster, a boogeypony to fear. But what is Truth, and what is rumors and lies? Time often twists things even if written by the wise.
Is the boogeypony of ancient times as horrid as described, or is the true terror the shining grand light. What is Truth and what is lies? Who is the true monster whose evil does blind?

And what of the ruins sealed far below? The corpses, the shadows, and the sparkling glow? In this tale the answers of truth, will be found within the rumors and a confrontation long overdo.

This is part of another new alternate universe continuum, the world of Dark Shines. Enter a realm of bogeyponies, where dark magic has very real and horrific costs. Where the light and dark are often mislabeled, and where monsters can be found gilded in gold. Where old tales hide real secrets, and rumors are woven to hide the truth. And where actions of old are causing havoc anew.

When Applejack goes to deliver apple treats to a group meeting, she gets roped into a strange cult's plot to end the world. The pony who placed the order, Mina, seems excited for it, but Applejack doesn't quite want to die just yet, and she tries to escape both the dark lord, Mina, and her eventual fate as harbinger of doom.
Maybe, however, she'll make a new friend along the way.
