Alongside their trusted friends they must hold together a fragile Equestria on the verge of falling apart and protect it from threats both within and without. Troubling times are ahead for Equestria for this is the age of the Equestrian Regency.

Commander Hurricane is the latest in a long line of pegasus commanders, in charge of the Pegasus Empire and determined to protect its citizens from threats. She will never break ranks. She will hold the line. Officially.

But when the threat is an eccentric revolutionary who talks nonsense, and who fights with ideas rather than with physical weapons, what arsenal does she herself possess to combat them? After the three tribe representatives had been freed from the icy prison of the wendigos they must begin to make a home in this new land. They hope the tribes could learn to live in peace with each other, a task easier said then done but the discovery of strange magical gems could help.

Before the Windigos arrived in Equestria, three tribes were starving for food. There was no friendship between the separate pony species, and things are only growing worse.

This story follows Cobalt, a young unicorn prince who was brought up to be selfish and cruel towards all other pony species. His life changes when he meets Dahlia, a lowly earth pony mare, and forms a tentative friendship. When his father declares war on the earth ponies and his new friend's life is at risk, will Cobalt be able to blindly turn away and stay loyal to his family and home? Or will he betray them for the mare who wants nothing to do with him?

Taking place prior to the backstory told within Hearth's Warming Eve, this story tells the tale of just how badly the relationship between the three tribes was before the Windigos arrived in Equestria.

The newest chancellor of the Earth ponies assumes her office with a dignified speech.

Or something like that.

The ponies of Equestria find themselves in the midst of civil unrest once more. This causes their leaders to come together to form the First Equestrian Congress. Together the leaders of these three tribes will make a new constitution that will implement equality and unity among Equestria as a whole.
