What do you get when Twilight finds a thing that has never been categorized in any book?

Shenanigans.

Starswirl believed that the land of Equestria had been at peace since he and the pillars had banished the Pony of Shadows to Limbo over a thousand years ago. Oh how wrong did he not know he was. Much less how one of the said threats was a mare that used to be one of his students.

When my life ended, I didn't think it would start anew...but I am not going to throw away such chance.
Now in a rather familiar world, I'll enjoy a totally normal school life!

You know the story: The sirens rampaged across the land, sowing havoc until Star Swirl the Bearded banished them to a magicless backwater of a universe full of naked apes.

The problem with historical narratives, as Clover the Clever can attest, is that the reality is rarely so cut and dry.

My entry for, and winner of, /mlp/'s 2023 Pastejam. The first and last lines were set by Aftercase, but other than that, we were given free rein to write whatever. This was an attempt to write using only the absolute minimum number of words allowed for the prompt. Sadly, that's 300 words too few, so this is the extended edition to get it onto Fimfic.

History is full of mysteries.

Before the first Hearth's Warming, when the pony tribes were divided and weak, the Griffon Empire threatened to conquer the lands of ponies. The Unicorn King sent his court wizard Star Swirl the Bearded to the Griffon King to persuade him not to.

When the dust had settled the Griffon Empire ceased all expansion, and for many decades afterwards the Griffon King sent assassins to kill the wizard.

No-one knows what the two of them said to each other when they met, and over time the meeting between them became shrouded in myth. Legends sprang up about what had happened, each wilder than the last.

Now the story is told.

Feel free to try this one, or start with one of the others. The Education of Clover the Clever is considered the best, and is a great place to begin.

This is an AU I started writing in 2013, and it has diverged from canon in ways large and small, but it rarely matters. When this story begins Starlight Glimmer is here, and the Castle of Friendship, but Star Swirl the Bearded hasn't returned to G4's present.)

But, fun turns to panic when The Doctor finds out there might be a Weeping Angel in a cavern. With the help of Star Swirl, The Doctor, and Twilight must destroy the Weeping Angel, before Discord arrives.
