Twilight has suffered for so long. I've seen her lose friends, her family, her innocence, and more from the war we had with humanity. Ever since the surrender, she has spent every waking moment trying to earn both her redemption as well as Equestria's for our sins against the humans. Now that she has finally done so, she is ready to rest at last.

I just wish it wasn't her final rest.

They said I like Humans, that I am an Anthropologist who desired to be a Human. Maybe it is true, to a point. At least it is fun in literature.

I had ended up in the new library in Ponyville, where Twilight Sparkle found me and suggested a book for me to read.

Side-story to Past Sins - Spike almost lost Twilight to a hangmare's noose, but now Twilight is safe and Nyx is a filly again. Normal life is returning. Still, Spike can't ignore the fact that Nyx just isn't the same as he remembers her. Her temper is more volatile, and, when she gets angry, all he can see is the rage-driven Nightmare Moon of legend.

And thus Spike has to wonder: Is Nyx truly reformed, or is she one bad tantrum away from calling herself Nightmare Moon again?

Twilight is invited by Archon Sunset Shimmer to visit her in the island nation of Freeport. To her surprise, she discovers that Sunset wants to court her. As they spend time together, they need to find out if they can really make a relationship work despite their titles and personalities, or if they’re simply incompatible.

In the wake of the recent invasion of Equestria, the Princesses decide to conduct a complete strategic review of Equestria's military readiness. This means that Twilight gets to do something she's wanted to try ever since she played pretend with her big brother in the Guard. She's going to take over Equestria.

Celestia and Luna are long gone, Twilight and the Mane 6 are MIA, and what remains of Equestria is being more or less administered by Starlight Glimmer, who seems to have fallen back into old habits. Those who remain struggle to find their place in this harsh new world, so different from the Equestria of their youth.

This edgy dreck started out as a flash-fiction piece written in two hours for the 2019 EFNW Iron Author competition. It didn't win and the reviewers seemed mostly confused by it, but I liked what I wrote and I feel like I want to expand it into a much larger story. Not quite sure exactly where I want to take it yet, but I will be adding to it periodically. Comments appreciated.

Twilight Sparkle gets hurt. The natural response is to let slip a bad word. But as she lets out said word of bad, something interrupts her. This is surprising, but not unexpected. Random happenings occur in Ponyville all the time. But then it happens again. And again. Pretty soon Twilight Sparkle suspects that there's some larger force at play. It's time to science the fyay! out of this!
