When the ETS pandemic started spreading throughout the world the south in the United States was hit particularly hard. The south had a culture all its own with a stronger focus on conservative political beliefs, religion, and a strong belief in maintaining tradition and culture.

Having the ETS pandemic come strongest here was one of the greatest ironies ever. Now all of what the south was is about to be upended. For Mathew, a teen from a town in South Carolina it means far more than that. It meanst re-examining who he is and who he is meant to be.

Shares same universe with: Pandemic by ASGeek2012 it is not required you read this story, but it will help understand some things going on in the background.

This story is considered an origin story for many of the characters in Pandemic: Picking Up the Pieces. This story is not required reading for that, but if you want to learn more about some of the characters this is where you'll find it.

Story is now complete and editing is underway. Many chapters are still pretty rough. I grew a lot as a writer as this story went on, and there is an increase in quality between the first half of this story the second half, and then the sequel.

A (very) short one-shot written and edited in less than two hours while sitting in a hospital bed.

Chrysalis had come a long way from absolutely nothing - a humbled bug-horse left to fend for herself in the howling wilderness. But she's not the pony changeling she used to be, and she's set her hoof upon the path of conquest, for herself, for her crown, and for her children minions.

All she had to do was seize the commanding heights of the pony principalities, and feed her brood upon that endless supply of pony happiness which was her birthright, by all that was villainous!

If only her mother didn't keep tripping her up.

The King Lives
After a brave and daring mission into the Dark Part, the darkest realm known to ponykind (or at least in her imagination), Twi has conquered all fears. In doing so, all the shadows in her life are nothing but shade from the sun.
He Will Return
But when the sun is gone, the land is cloaked in shadow, therefore, there is no use running and hiding from it. Twi, though, is too young to understand; Twi wants to understand; Twi will understand.
He Hungers
But does she care? No way! She has more important things to worry about. Like making diplomatic decisions with her daycare friends, joining a gang (also with her daycare friends), and wondering who the heck the dark, mysterious mare is that keeps appearing in her dreams.
His Children Hunger
That said, she's not completely sure the job is done.
He Wanes
The job is far from done.
He Waits
More then she realizes.

Hey there everypony,
I've been a barpony for most my life and it's allowed me to see this fantastic world of ours; and as a barpony we hear a lot of stories from all over Equestria. This job can often be more about listening than actually serving drinks, and boy am I good at both, while I'm not much of a storyteller myself I feel some of these need to be shared. So bear with me here as I try to recount some of the stories told to me over the years because, honestly, who can remember them all perfectly?
Where are my manners? My name's Bumper and I own a few bars and clubs across Equestria and have worked countless more beforehand. So without delay let's get stuck into a little series I'd like to call The Barpony Tales.

A man attempts to wake up his beloved mare, as she has a busy day ahead. Yet she'd prefer her silly lover to cast his worries away and come back to bed with her.

This came to me out of nowhere, and I wanted to write a cute little scene of groggy morning Rarity. I hope you enjoy, and please don't hesitate to let me know what you thought of it!

She's keeping a secret. As a matter of fact, she doesn't know what it is herself! Unfortunately, it's kinda difficult to hide something so large from one's own housemate forever. Thus, suspicions arise, questions are asked... and so begins, the secret search for secrets. What will the secret do?
