Thankfully, for those of you who may still be concerned, the damage was mostly superficial; my skull did its job and I sustained no apparent long term damage. The only real tell that it ever happened is my scar, but it can't be seen beneath my hair anyway.

Good news:
Not working in the night club atm.

Bad news:
That's because I had my head kicked in by three blokes on a night out and now I have an eye socket made of metal. I'm lucky I didn't lose my eye or sustain brain damage. Bone fragments had to be removed from my eye and sinuses, and the operation involved making an incision from ear to ear across the top of my skull, then peeling my face off like a mask until they could get to the aforementioned injury.

Just had a five minute study break and decided to cycle through the 'Also liked' and 'Similar' tabs on the right of ATF.

Disturbingly, very few of those stories were ever completed. Most lie in hiatus with absent authors, are cancelled, or are dead fics.

Not the most encouraging thing to find after returning. I wonder if this happens to longer dark fics more than I think it does...

Uni work is fucking hard. I had too many distractions from my work, hence my absence of lack of communication on Fimfiction and other platforms. Even so, I hadn't cut out enough time for myself; something had to go: writing time, or recreation time.

Writing time went. I need to de-stress each day after uni or I'm going to end up mentally unsound.

Out of nowhere, my creativity has returned.

I'm actually unsure of what happened, it's weird...

For the past couple of weeks I've managed maybe 100-200 words a night, if any; just really struggling with the current scene, but last night I was more inspired than the new fucking Hearthstone expansion.

3000 words in an hour and a half. Not bad, considering my recent performance has been less than stellar.

Hey all, it's 3:22 AM at the time of me typing this and I'm real tired, so here's the short version: The latest chapter is just about done. I just have to read over it once more and slap on the A/N (and probably do the map illustration thing I do from time to time) and it's done. The next chapter is just about done. I'm gonna hop in the shower and give it a final editing sweep afterwards before publishing it.

I'm pleased to say that not only is this the second anniversary of my story's (demonic) conception, but it's also the longest chapter I've published so far. I didn't actually get everything I wanted into it, but I feel anything in excess of 15k is too much to read in one sitting (for me, at least). The rest will probably spill over into a follow-up chapter.

However, I've got an ICT project to finish by the 12th of December that's worth 40% of my final grade. The only way I can foresee getting this chapter out by the deadline is by sitting down and bashing out a full chapter's worth over this weekend (like I was actually able to back when I was doing GCSE and wasn't up to my eyeballs in work, oh the memories).

So I was backing up my updated ATF plan today, since it's been ages since I last did it (just in case my laptop gets nicked - this story is literally my life's work), and I looked in the folder from last year just out of curiosity. I found a small section that I couldn't recall saving until I read it. When I did, I remembered borrowing my brother's laptop on the plane home because my Blackberry was out of battery and I had a scene to finish whilst it was fresh in my mind.

The newest chapter is a week late because an elderly relative of mine has taken a turn for the worst. I've spent a good few hours this week visiting along with the rest of the family, and quite frankly it's put a dampener on my mood, for obvious reasons.
