Anyone ever have times like that where you go weeks on end, barely getting a short chapter done a week and then you go and knock out three in a single day. I shouldn't be so excited about that, but I am.
Anyway, monthly update on my rewrite.
Just finished chapter 25. Hoping to finish another two chapters this weekend.
I know I haven't posted any of the redone chapters, but they are coming.
I'm slowly realizing the monster I put in front of myself when I set out to rewrite Walking in from the past, seeing as it finished at 24 chapters and 96k words. The rewrite is currently at 15 chapters written. However that's including a lot of reworked scenes, new scenes, deleted scenes, and revamped personalities. The long and short of it is that the 14th chapter of the rewrite is the 5th chapter of the original and
I've currently got about 4chapters done on the prequel and 3 done on the sequel.
However, I've currently put that on hold because over the last 2 months I've been compiling a list of things that are wrong with my first story or things I wish I had done better. So right now I'm in the middle of rewriting large sections of "Walking in from the past".
It was something I was going to do eventually, but I felt I needed to do it sooner rather than later since it's going to keep bothering me.
Don't worry, I haven't vanished just yet. Not gonna lie though, I did burn myself out a little bit while finishing Walking in from the past if you all remember how I was releasing a chapter a day during my finale week.
I'm starting to get my rhythm back a bit as far as writing goes though. I still feel I need to tell more of the story I started, since I felt like my headcannon just blew a whole universe wide open.

Now I'm sure some of you noticed there were some events, ponies, and unanswered questions that weren't covered in the finale.
I'm currently working on two projects.

Last chapter is up! Story complete! Duty complete! New game+! and all that jazz.
No seriously, this has been a trip for me being the first thing I've ever written.
I don't think it's particularly the best thing in the world but everyone is usually their own worst critic anyway.
But it's still something I made myself and I'm proud of it.

This is the week I finish my first story. Yes I know I have a few other works on my profile but this is the one that originally brought me to fimfic...8 years ago! HOLY CRAP! Has it been that long.
Anyway, I've got some chapters stored up. You're looking at seeing at least a chapter a day until I finish this on saturday. That's the plan, and I plan to keep to it. Provided no emergencies pop up naturally.

I figure it's only fair I tell you all why I'm not posting any new chapters for 2 weeks.
I'm currently giving everyone a good chance to catch to catch up since the most recent chapter was my big identity reveal.
That being said, I'm taking those 2 weeks to hopefully finish the rest of the chapters and then post a chapter a day on the 3rd week for my big finale.
As of this blog, I'm a little over halfway done with the remaining 5chapters.

This story has been quite the journey for me. I feel that working on it has helped me grow immensely as a writer and a person. I'm currently planning a sequel to this, something that'll hopefully be a little more light-hearted. Thank you to everyone who's been with me on this journey. We've almost reached the end.

Never thought I'd be able to take some joy in piecing together words into a story, spent too much of my younger years wasted on video games. But I plan to keep this ball rolling, set some goals for myself, and make things happen.

what do you find yourself doing when you get stumped on a story idea? how many times do you usually find yourself rewriting huge sections?
I just got my next chapter up, but i've had more than just a few times now where the ideas I planned to roll with, take on their own life when putting them to paper. does anyone else experience this?
I'm having all sorts of new writer problems right now, starting with the whole thing of learning rules and stuff by the time I finished chapter 3 and then going back to look over chapter 1 and DEAR SWEET CELESTIA.
5hours of editing and rewrites later. IT'S FIXED, CHAPTER 1 NO LONGER MAKES ME WANT TO HURL.
don't worry if you've already read it. nothing has changed fact wise, but I needed to fix it for my own piece of mind.
