Hey folks,
I just published a pretty huge chapter in my favorite story, The World is Filled with Monsters. I have a good plan for the rest of the current act, and the rest of the story to follow.
Continuing what GaPJaxie started here and here. But not here because we don't care about Sunset Shimmer.
“I’ve been thinking about the earth pony problem,” Starlight Glimmer said.
Hey folks. Gonna talk about something other than ponies again. Japanese calligraphy! Model airplanes (ran out of space)! And then, at the very end, a little about ponies.
But first, a horizontal line.
Hey folks,
I probably should've published this yesterday, but I've been back in the States visiting family and was out of town most of the day. So my 2017 retrospective comes out in 2018 instead.
2017 had an odd feel for me, in that I felt like I managed a lot of writing, but at the same time did very little publishing. In fact, my story feed bears this out: I only published three stories in all of 2017.
Merry Christmas, folks. I hope everyone is enjoying themselves this holiday. Remember to tell your friends and family how much they mean to you, if you get a chance.
I just posted another update for The World is Filled with Monsters, my current passion project. It also has new artwork by Wilvarin-Liadon, which is better than anything I've managed to draw for it:
For years I've been envious of the larger Intuos tablets -- the ones with drawing surfaces as large as a full sheet of paper, with delicate styluses able to detect a huge range of pressures. But those tablets are expensive tablets, and I've had to make do with my Wacom Bamboo. It's not bad, but it's not great either. The lack of sensitivity on the tip makes it difficult to draw tapering shapes. As much as I like drawing, I don't do it enough to justify the $300+ price tag for Intuos's nicer
Everyone's already aware of the July 4th holiday, I assume. Or, at least, the Americans are. If you're not an American, you may go back to whatever it is you normally do on July 4th. Work, I suppose.
Hey team,
I’ve been managing to keep to a weekly (mostly!) posting schedule for The World is Filled with Monsters, and some readers have noticed that the cover art keeps changing. That’s by design – I have a bunch of title cards for the main characters, and there’s more on the way.
In 1821, U.S. Secretary of State (and later president) John Quincy Adams delivered one of the first great speeches on American foreign policy. In line with George Washington's warning against European entanglements, Adams announced that America was a friend to freedom-loving people around the world, but there were limits to what we would do for our friends. America stood for liberty, he said, but America would not crusade for liberty. America would stand for good, but it would not enforce good
