I'm pleased to announce to all interested parties that I've completed edits to "A Shimmering New Year". My thanks to RQK for their assistance in smoothing out continuity between their story, "Reflections", and the Quiververse in general.
For those interested in what's been changed...
- I've built upon Crystal Faire's presence at Canterlot High and detailed her role in the defeat of the Nightmare fragment.
Just a warning, but I'm still tweaking "A Shimmering New Year". Most of it is done, thankfully, but there's still a couple bits left for me to add in Chapter Eight and some changes to make in the second epilogue. Time permitting, they'll be done over the next couple days.
Oh, and new stuff's still on track for November. Not a lot, but still, new stuff.
In the near-future, I'll be tweaking some bits in "A Shimmering New Year". Nothing elaborate, nothing drastic, just adding a little bit here and there to the story to help line things up with RQK's "Reflections". They should be up by the end of the weekend, and they might end up getting paralleled in the other story.
For those unaware, RQK is currently hard at work on a story called "Reflections". Therein, Twilight Sparkle joins Crystal Faire, an alternate, grown version of Flurry Heart, in traveling the multiverse and ensuring that particular timelines continue on, even as the multiverse itself begins to collapse for unknown reasons.
So yes, I'm very pleased at all of the new character tags that have been added. Many are overdue, and I've updated stories where applicable to reflect them.
And speaking of updates...the next chapter for "A Shimmering New Year"? One section away from being done. With luck, it's coming this weekend.
Turns out that I was overly pessimistic.
The next chapter for "A Shimmering New Year" is going online tomorrow. Expect revelations, dangling plot threads to be tied up, and a bit of foreshadowing for a story that's already up and online.
One more chapter after this one and an epilogue (maybe two). Work's already been done on both, so they should be up before the end of the month.
The next chapter for "A Shimmering New Year" is about 2,500 words in. I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll get more done for it by the end of this week, but that's going to depend entirely upon how things go this week with work and everything else. Maybe I'll get lucky, come home early on Thanksgiving, and actually get it done before the end of the month.
I'm going to try and give it a good conclusion. Here's hoping I pull it off.
Most of the next chapter for "A Shimmering New Year" is written and ready to go. I've just got one more chunk left to write for it - which will hopefully happen before the weekend is out - and then it'll be done. Maybe even in time for the release of "Family".
Be warned, however, I'm getting into some heavy stuff with the next one. What comes afterwards, however...well, I'm hoping people will like it.
This month's chunks for "Rainbow Rocks: Quiververse Remix" and "The First Evil" are written. Hopefully, Wednesday will see me back at work on "Family", and by the end of next week, I'll start work on the next chapter to "A Shimmering New Year".
Be warned, however, there's no guarantee that I'll have the next chapter for it out before the end of October. I'll do my best, mind, but we all know the saying - "Man plans, God laughs". Still, with any luck, the next chapter will be satisfying.
