This story has taken slightly longer to to write than I had initially planned but that's just the way it goes. But hey at least I haven't taken a year break from it like with the Time Keeper.

I finally thought I had gotten speed again to write only to see that the entire chapter I'm writing is just utter disjointed crap. I'm rewriting so I apologise for the delay, if we're lucky I'll manage to finish it during the weekend.

Actually the first bit isn't so bad it's what follows that just erk, needs more working on.

I'm cheating since this technically covers two stories (three if we count Tango in regards to Barricade) but I've only tagged Possession because that's where majority of their character development has happened so far.

Chapter 18 got written quicker than I expected, I thought it wouldn't be ready until the weekend, but hey there it is. Well technically speaking it's Friday for me and that is rather close to the Weekend. Anyway.

Chapter 18 is up, we learn more about King Sombra and even some disturbing things he wants with his host. Have no worries, I'm sticking to the T rating and no tags will be added, but I do like to push the limits as much as possible.

Thanks to the hard work of Hail King Sombra in proofreading both chapters at the same time. I have now published both chapter 16 and 17 of Possession.

In the process that story has now surpassed In the Broad Daylight as my longest ponystory and since we have at least seven or more chapters left to go, it might just hold onto that title for a while.

Chapter 16 and chapter 17 are currently in the proofreading phase and I think I'll just be publishing both with very short intervals once that's done since Chapter 16 finishes Part 2 of the story and chapter 17 starts Part 3.

Part 3 is the final part, we are on the finishing stretch, I'm gunning for eight chapters per part, but it's always possible Part 3 might be a little shorter or a little longer than the previous two parts.

However, the reason is simply because chapter 17 starts part 3 of the story and we switch focus back to Private Iceland, King Sombra and Barricade and I just have too much fun with Sombra messing around with the twins. Why do I want to write a what if story based on Sombra's line that he considered keeping Private back when he pulled him into the past?

It just keeps popping into my head frequently, the most prevalent version of the idea is Private having ended up being raised as his son and heir, taught dark magic and when the Crystal Empire returns is an obstacle for Shining Armor and Cadance when they arrive to protect the empire from Sombra.

I'm rather glad to announce that after some careful tweaking and playing around with the colors, I could actually get away with changing Mirage Rock from phthalo bluish gray to just bluish gray without really losing the appearance I've always pictured her as. I mentioned in the original author's note for chapter 12 of possession that even I couldn't believe it was an actual color until I looked it up and found out that it was in fact a color.

This is just a heads up but the next few chapters in Possession will not feature Sombra, Private or Barricade very heavily as we shift the focus a little more to the effort to look for them, also we will be meeting Private and Barricade's family and so on and get a little character development from that side.

I have replaced the Flash Sentry tag with the Other tag, because I sort of didn't realize how much I actually would use Twilight in this story. Flash is still a somewhat central character but my initial plans for Twilight were more minimal until I realized that I actually should use her a bit more as it would make no sense she wouldn't get involved more.

So expect more Twilight in the story as well. And a certain baby dragon too.

Hey, just letting know that I've fixed a continuity error in Chapter 8 of Possession. I had Private Iceland state that the Elements of Harmony had been upgraded to the Rainbow powers, which they were at the end of season 4, however since the story happens in mid season 4 or roughly so, that hasn't happened yet, in fact the ponies don't even have the Elements of Harmony any longer at this point in the story.
