There's so much to potentially cover that I'm worried I'll miss something. I considered writing an intermediary chapter from Alibi's perspective, but that felt overly constraining to attempt.

As a consequence of personal growth I now have all of the bad habits and none of the excuses for the timetable. What I can say is that I've been looking forward to writing some of the upcoming scenes for years. This is a strange thing I do—that I still don't believe when I explain it to myself. I've learned my lesson. That's the absolute last time I ever tell myself that a chapter will be easy to write. The cruel hand of reality invariably smacks in the face every time I do. I kept telling myself I'd write, but 50 hour workweeks said otherwise . Not that I'm making excuses though; I've had other distractions, some of which may subtly creep into the next chapter.

I know it's been a while since I've updated, but I have exciting news: I landed a job

There's been an adjustment phase, but if I can fight off fatigue at night, hopefully I can get in the groove of writing around 1,000 words a night.

The next Borrowed Time is in the editing queue and on its way.

I set this up for a long time, so I was locked-in to doing another dream sequence chapter. These have proven to be surprisingly difficult. My new motto has to be simplicity first. A lot of complex ideas that seemed cool at the time ended up causing me nothing but trouble. Anyway, I can only hope this chapter will be worth the wait.

I finished my reread and, in the process, found far more mistakes than I would like. Fortunately, only a couple were continuity related.

First, I accidentally gave Squirt's friend two names—Iron Work and Iron Press. As for the second discrepancy, I can definitely roll with it, but it did completely slip my mind that the exchange students have planned activities on the weekend

Expect the new chapter of Borrowed Time Sunday morning. It's a bit of a standalone, but I need to recapture some momentum. At least I'm generating ideas again.

I still owe you all a 500 like bonus, so I'll figure something out on that front too.

Borrowed Time #24 is finished. My editors have gone through most of it already, so it should be up fairly soon. It was the toughest chapter I've ever had to write, and that probably says more about my state of mind than it does about the chapter Transition chapters are tougher for me in general, though. If pattern holds, the next one shouldn't take nearly as long.
