So, despite the fact that it AU's my story At the Gorge (by giving that Sweet Apple Acre Siblings other parents) and peripherally affects Hitting Rock Bottom (by implying Cup Cake is older than I thought, and that Mayor Mare is of an older generation than Cup Cake and Cheerilee), I actually liked the personalities they gave Bright Mac and Buttercup. Introduction

There are two major chronological problems in the long flashback story "Where the Apple Lies," one of which has been mentioned (and at least one absurd explanation proposed) and one of which has been entirely ignored. The mentioned problem is easily solved; the second one is more difficult.

With the Epilogue, of just over 2000 words, At the Gorge is now completed, a short novella of over 15,500 words. It turned out to be a slightly bigger story than I imagined when I started it, but I'm glad that I now have written down the SWSV-canonical story of both the death of Applejack's parents -- and the lead-in to AJ's flashback from "The Cutie Mark Chronicles." Hope you all like it.

Because of the way I hiccup-published Chapter 3, two paragraphs or so of the former Chapter 3 were cut and pasted to the start of Chapter 4. In this chapter, Applejack receives an unusual sort of therapy. And the story is now all done save for my planned Epilogue.
