i've mentioned it before, but the gap between now and Nightmare Night is killing me, its all original story that i haven't been carefully planning for years now (save for one scene) and i can't help but feel insecure about it.

i still have a couple of crucial scenes to write on the latest chapter of Family Tree, and it's already at over 8,000 words. i know that's not all that long in retrospect, but the average FT chapter is usually around 5k so it feels very wordy to me.

as of late december, i have finally graduated from college! i have gotten my teaching license and am looking for my first teaching job. it was a long journey (i was in community college for too long, paying out of pocket made it take so much longer, oof) but it's surreal that it's all behind me now. im hoping to get a call this week from a local junior high, so keep your fingers crossed!

my old icon was a very early version of Lottie, before i even really knew what this story would be about. not to mention she never wears a scarf at any point.

so i redid the drawing (at least the head since it would be in the icon) to show more what her coloring is like in her pony form (given most of drawings are just in pencil)

im almost done with Family Tree chapter 18, and fair warning, a big chunk of it is Lottie talking about her past.

but im off for summer now and summer classes don't start until the beginning of next month, so lots of free time to write more chapters (maybe even more short stories if i really have extra time), but stay tuned.

we were at 96 likes when i finally went to bed, and i woke up to 103, now 104.

and a ton more views than a single chapter publish usually nets me. i'm excited for all the readers i've got, new and old.

i just submitted Family Tree to the submissions folder of "The Good HiE List" group, and I'm so so happy. i don't know how long these things take to get approved, but this story's already got so much attention without it, more than i ever thought it would.
