Yeah, I haven't posted anything to this blog in a while. Work's been keeping me busy, so I haven't had as much time to devote to this site in general, much less my own writing. It doesn't help that I've been struggling with the final scene of Shimmysmut, either.
HOWEVER! ZVARRI!
Yeah, I bit the bullet and pulled Chapter Nine of GL:A. It may or may not return in some form at some point in the future, but that will depend on how my re-organized plan for the fic shapes up. Hell, I've toyed with the idea of a massive re-write of everything up to this point. We'll see what happens, though.
You may have notice a recent change in the publication status of Greater Lights: Adaptation. Your eyes do not deceive you. It has indeed been given the dreaded "On Hiatus" Kiss of Purgatory. Allow me to explain why this is the case.
I've been having something of a crisis of confidence in my abilities as a writer, which has been brewing for the last few months. There are two main contributing factors to my deteriorating state of mind.
Chapter Nine of GL:A is almost ready for posting. I'm sure Duelist96 would like to finally find out why his dick exploded roughly nine months ago, so if all prereaders could report to Gdocs for a final once-over, I should be able to post tomorrow. 
It's that time again! The next chapter of Greater Lights: Adaptation is almost ready for publishing. Of course, this chapter update is special, since, as I've mentioned previously, I'll also be publishing a clopshot featuring a minor character introduced in this chapter at the same time.
My "Derrenverse-adjacent" clopshot, The Barmare, is now complete, pending a final editing pass. As mentioned in my previous blog post, however, I'm holding off on publishing it until the next chapter of GL:A is also ready for publication.
Thanks to some goading from BikerPon3, I've got a new clopshot in the works, called The Barmare. Since it features a character that gets introduced in the next chapter of GL:A, I'm planning on releasing the two concurrently.

And that means that I've been just as productive in this first month of 2018 as I was in the entirety of 2017.
You may have noticed that my production has slowed down to a crawl again. Unfortunately, I've kind of had a hell of a month lately. In addition to getting stuck on the two remaining scenes in Chapter Seven, my job situation, which has always been somewhat up in the air, took a turn for the worse recently. The less said about it the better.
First off, the final scene of the next chapter of Greater Lights: Adaptation is nearly complete. Unfortunately, this doesn't mean that I'll be posting in the immediate future, since I still have one connecting scene to write. But it does mean that I'm that much closer to being ready to do so. I'm hoping I can get this done in the next week or so.
(There I go again, making promises I may not be able to keep. 
)
I know it's been a while since I said anything or even updated my story progress bar, but I have news for you. I have just completed the second scene of the next chapter of GL:A. That puts me at the halfway point on this chapter.
Actually, I'm a fair bit more than halfway through the chapter, as I have about a third to half of the final scene written, as well. I kind of farted it out, and it seems to have cleared the blockage from my literary colon. 
I am pleased to report that Part One of Chapter Seven is now complete. All I need now is for my proofreaders to go over it with a fine tooth comb so that I can publish it in the next 24-48 hours.
