In a surprise, come-from-behind victory, The New Crop was accepted by EQD. I was pretty sure it was going to be rejected due to being a niche kind of story and pretty depressing. However, it was the niche-ness of it that pulled it through, if I'm reading things correctly. They told me they'd never published a boxing story before, so it was new ground. Luckily for me, my pre-reader was taught to box as a kid, so he totally got all the emotion of the match.
