Hey, i'm not going to be around later, so I have to release the new chapter of ISHNBTP now. I'm sure this affects no one.
So, good news, I just finished chapter 15 of I Should Have Never Bought That Pony, and it will be released tomorrow at 16:00 EST. Now, it's a long one, and it's some of the better writing I've done in a while. Still, I'd like someone (or a couple someones) to skim over it before I send it out. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you a link to the google Doc.
It's been about a year since the last time I visited this site, and well over a year since I've written anything about talking, colorful ponies. For those of you who followed me before my departure, you may have been aware I was struggling with depression and a fair amount of self loathing. Things did not get better until recently, but there's a few things I need to touch on.
My close friend, Corey...
After sleepless nights and restless days, I have completed my work on I Should Have Never Bought That Pony. It took a lot more words than I hoped it was going to, but it brought it all together nicely. Now that is done, I'm sending it through a few trusted pre-readers and editors before I do anything else. I'd rather not have any more slip ups that could easily be pointed out by someone else. Once this is done, I'll be releasing the chapters on a set schedule. Starting in December.
I'm not going to drag it out any longer. The end is nigh. You want it finished. I want it finished. Some chapters may come close to 10,000 words, but damn it, there will only be five more chapters.
And when it's over, these blog posts will cease, and I will rest.
When will it be over? Before New Years Eve. I want that ending to be relevant.
I Should Have Never Bought That Pony will be surviving my incomplete story genocide. It is far too popular to kill, especially when I'm only just getting to the good part. New chapter will be released tomorrow. I promise. With the rest of my stories out of the way, I have nothing aside from real life stopping me from writing.
Rejoice or sit there and stew in anger. The choice is yours.
I'm almost done with chapter 12 of ISHNBTP, and it's a long one. Now, I have the first part done, and ready to post, but it's kinda a crappy way to leave off until the next part is out. I can't make them two separate chapters either. It's just the way it panned out. Anyway, I've been typing for 7 hours trying to get this done, but I'm just too tired. I'll just wait until I hear from one of you guys before I do anything.
Yes, do not be alarmed, it is still I, Final Draft. I grew tired of the flufflepuff chainsaw avatar, and upon seeing this picture, I wanted to change it. On top of getting a new Avatar, I've also commissioned my lazy friend, Frostwolf_223, to make me a new cover for ISHNBTP. And by commissioned, I of course mean forced. He is not responsible for the avatar though. That would be AskLonerDash, as featured in
Pushing the release of chapter 12 of ISHNBTP back to this Friday. Didn't have the time today or yesterday that I thought I would. Seeing as the updates were supposed to be weekly/biweekly, I'm still in the clear, but rather not delay finishing this.
Still aiming to be done by mid August. Or was I aiming for end of July? Whatever. It'll be done when it's done.
It's both a bit of advice and the title of chapter 12 of I Should Have Never Bought That Pony! Releasing on Tuesday!
At long last, I have released a new chapter of ISHNBTP. It's not much, but it's getting everything set up for the climax. Sorry the wait was for so little. I'll try to bust out chapter 10. Should be easy now. There are far less distractions in the middle of the woods with no wifi.
Whether it be a glitch or not, I Should Have Never Bought That Pony is back in the featured box. Probably because I just gave it the chapter it needed. If you missed my blog post earlier, or the notification that I posted a new chapter...I posted a new chapter, go check it out.
Because I don't use a pen.
Anyway...
I Should Have Never Bought That Pony will be getting a new chapter shortly! A few more edits on it is all I need to do l. Three weeks seems to be the perfect amount of time to fully develop a good chapter, so I may stick with it. As always, I appreciate your patience.
Yes. I finally released a new chapter of I Should Have Never Bought That Pony! The next Chapter, "Re-Gifting" will be out next week. Look forward to Discord causing buckets of chaos when Zack's contract is broken by his step-daughter!
So, 4000 words into chapter seven, I realized just how rusty I am from my hiatus. I coaxed my editor into looking it over briefly, and she's giving me an earful right now. So, while she busts out the red sharpie, I'm sitting here with my dunce cap and a dozen guides on grammar and sentence structure. Expect that chapter tomorrow afternoon. My apologies.
The new chapter of I Should Have Never Bought That Pony will be released later today, and as a fair warning, it's dark. I'm now adding the DARK tag to the entire story. As you may have known, when this was featured by the Royal Guard, it was classified as DARK anyway. So, yeah.
...is highly unlikely.
Good news though, I have slain my inner demons, conquered my social conundrums, abolished the writer's block, bought myself a Roland Keytar, and done many other important things. However, I'm still in a very dark state of mind and it is reflected in my writing. Chapter 7 Of I Should Have Never Bought That Pony is coming along at long last, but I'm not sure I should do what I've done.
Who wants a plushie?! Three lucky followers will receive an adorable stuffed pony of their choice (Up to a $50 value!)
Okay, so that's actually like a $400 commission plushie, so whatever you get probably won't look that nice.
OH CELESTIA, WHY?!
"Oh, and this is my NEW pony, Miss Fluffypuff." Rebecca pointed to a pink filly sitting in the corner of her room facing the wall. "She's in timeout right now."
"I have told you already; My name is Princess Celestia, and - "
"And I have told you, Miss Fluffypuff! There is only one princess, and that's Princess!" Rebecca interrupted the pony. She held her favorite orange filly up proudly and gave her a hug.
From now on, I'm not going to say I'm going to do something, I'm just going to do it. Whenever I set out to do something specific, it never gets done and I end with 6000 words on a brand new story that stands no chance of ever being finished. So if it passes moderation, look forward to the first chapter of something dark. I won't actually continue it if I say I will, so I won't so I will.
...
Right.
