It's taken three bloody years, (with some bleed over in Fimfiction's) case, but the absolutely final chapter of Operation: Patriotism is up!

If you've been tracking my activity, you'll know that I've been uploading new Patriotism chapters per day. I decided to make a blog post about this one because it marks the beginning of the fourth and final quarter of the story - the train is now on its way to its final destination.

So yeah, I've updated it again. But you know what else? I finish editing the first 12 chapters with Troubleshooter's suggestions. So I can't update them all on Fimfiction right away because of the one-chapter-per-day rule ... but do you know what what means? Do you know what that means?

Those of you who follow me or my story may have been noticing my stillborn red-headed stepchild that I just can't bring myself to let go, Operation: Patriotism has been updating a bit recently.

... yeah.

It's just been updating.

Trying to set things up so that, come winter break, I can start blitzing right through to the new chapters.

Despite my tagging of it as "On Hiatus," I saw fit to upload Chapter 4 after making some small adjustments to it. Now the story is 1/3 of the way to being caught up to its duplicate on fanfiction.net, and then I can start making totally all-new updates once I get the other 2/3 edited and cleaned up! Yay (?)

This is an excerpt from a much, much later chapter of my crossover Operation: Patriotism. As I was writing it, I realized certain... parallels that could be made.

At the rate things are progressing on my end, by the time I get to publishing this chapter, this exerpt will some of the sting it could have. My solution? Copy-paste it out and publish it seperately, as a sort of preview, if you want to call it that.

You know those stories I keep threatening to have restored? Well, it finally happened today, thanks to the glorious god we call "Meeester" when he deigns to grace our presence with a mortal form.

But anyways, I'm pretty sure I'm going to delete Operation: Patriotism from this site.

I'll still be WORKING on it. . . just exclusively on Fanfiction.net instead. At least I don't have to worry about those Plan 9 a-holes there. I don't need the stress of my story being in that group in my life.

I do not have to put up with $*&t.

When Summer comes, I will be rewriting Chapter 1 of Operation: Patriotism.

It's too long, too exposition-y without being engaging, and kind of clunky.

The new version will have the exposition woven into a series of national interviews conducted by the humans onto their alien saviors, which will blend expositioning the previous work and introducing the themes of this work in a much more streamlined manner.

I, um, had an encounter with a Fimfiction.net member eariler today over my new story. "Equestria Girls: Beast Hunters". It devolved into a flame war.

I'd like to say that -
I don't mind criticism.
I don't mind people disliking my story.
I don't mind people deciding not to read my story .

I do mind people being an arrogant pains-in-the-backside.
