Ever since the last chapter I've been stumped on what to do with the next chapter.

I'm happy to report that I'm 1.3K words into the next chapter, so things are slowly but surely getting done.

Neither I nor the story are dead as of the time of this posting.

Turns out writing Ulquiorra from the outside perspective of uninitiated ponies is a lot harder than I thought it'd be, and I'm having to spend a lot more time in the brainstorming stage than I'm accustomed to.

Why is it so damn hard to write at times?

Why does the prospect of sitting down to type up an idea and give it physical form, seem to just suck the life and enthusiasm right out of you?

The current chapters for HIE are proving to be a lot harder to write than I thought. Even harder when you've got distracted thoughts flaunting themselves at you.

Currently I'm thinking about something filler-y and related to a previous chapter, showing the battle with Nightmare Moon from John's perspective over in Villain Support, listening to the whole battle over the phone and trying to help his client while she's getting her ass kicked by forces she can't possibly understand.

I haven't forgotten about or abandoned this story, or all the folks reading it. It's simply taking longer than I thought to get where I'm going.

What I have coming next is a bit different from my usual approach to doing business, and I need to figure out what I'm doing in order to do it right.

And, admittedly, I'm having some fun with a side project that just wouldn't work in the main story.

Holy crap. Has it really been that long already?

I honestly didn't think we'd actually be here, with this project still ongoing this long.

But then again that's my fault. If I could've kept up with my original posting schedule, rather than getting distracted and meandering and off topic like I did, this story might've been done by now. If I could've kept up with my original posting schedule we could've been on chapter 520 now instead of just chapter 135.

I really hate to do this, but it's going to be a good while before chapter 136 is up.

This is both because I want to try something different after where I left off in the last chapter, and because the writing bug has demanded I work on another story to exorcise certain ideas that won't go away otherwise, and would only get in the way if I tried to incorporate them into HIE.

Chapter 134 should be up in another 5 or 6 hours.

Chapter 133 is going to be released soon, once the last round of proof reading is complete.

A new chapter will be coming sometime tomorrow night. I just need to do a bit more polishing before then.

A new chapter should be up sometime tonight, barring internet issues getting in the way.

The FIMfiction notification system seems buggy at best. I don't know how many readers got alerts that two chapters were released over the last two weeks. I know I wasn't getting any notifications that anyone actually commented on them until I went in and checked the chapters myself.

So I'm not going to rely on the automatic notification system to alert folks. Now whenever I post a new chapter I'm going to post a blog so the readers will at least get that notice.

The next chapter is taking longer than it should've, primarily because I want to make it a good update, and because I had something special in mind for Halloween. Unfortunately that didn't go over all that well and I had to scrap the plans, which cost me time.

But I didn't want to discard everything I worked on, so I figured I'd leave this here for your reading pleasure.

Progress on the upcoming chapter(s) hasn't stopped or anything, I'm just wondering if the Changeling arc of the story should be updated to better reflect new information on them we've gained since the end of season 3.

First off, I apologize for the unreasonably long delay in the next chapter, I'm trying something new. I'm taking a similar approach to what Team Four Star did for DBZA episode sixty.

Secondly, I'm also plotting where to take the story for after, and in the process a particular question came to mind that I'd like feedback from the readers on. Would it be considered too unbelievable in this blending of canons for Ulquiorra to learn how to perform magic to some extent?

The next chapter is going to be more delayed than originally planned. Based on feedback, I'm looking at ways to revise and streamline the next few entries of the story to speed things up, and feel less bogged down by filler in the form of character observations and such. Writing such is fun and all, provides an opportunity to put in little details for the fans to catch onto, and helps foreshadow future events without seeming overly obvious. That's what I'm currently at right now. This is going to be a very involved chapter when it's finally done. There's not that much left to actually write, but actually writing it is the hard part.

Does anyone else get anxiety attacks when they're writing, or am I simply going about it all wrong?

It's not even just HiE that's causing it, it's my writing in general. Although if I had to narrow it down, it seems to happen most frequently when I'm trying to write for Shady, and I have no idea why that is. Why am I bordering on panic when I'm writing a fun character?

Does anyone know the issue number of Shonen Jump magazine which had Bleach chapter 353 in it? I'm trying on my own to find it but I'm not having any luck with that, and it's sort of important to an upcoming bit in the story.
