Okay, so this is new. I'm talking about the most recent episode as I was able to gather my thoughts on it rather quickly after I finished.

To be honest, I was never a big fan of Discord even back in season 2. Sure, he was a much more dangerous antagonist than Nightmare Moon, but he wasn't intimidating enough to be threatening. His humor, while very funny, didn't really enhance his villainy (like say Kefka or Terumi), and he really didn't leave much of an impact on me.

I once saw a film called Repossessed! (Dir: Bob Nolan; USA 1990) Repossessed! was this horrible excuse for a comedy about an adult who gets repossessed by demons and must be fought by an ex-Exorcist. I didn't even bother rewatching Scare Master because I've seen it twice now and it just does nothing for me. As for today's ep, it may be the lowest-stakes episode in the show's entire run, and yet it wasn't that bad. Maybe a tad forgettable.
