The Evil Video Games · 6:24am Aug 3rd, 2020

Blaming video games on everything it seems a lot of out of touch morons are doing... or even what humans were like in the past.

I don't recall Genghis Khan getting angry over losing to a game a Call of Duty and creating the Mongol Empire out of retaliation for example.

I'm still playing Stardew Valley · 3:33pm Mar 27th, 2020

I don't mean still as in “Oh, it's not popular but I still like it.” I mean that as I'm writing this I'm playing the game. I just checked and I've got over 100 hours on this game and I'm not sick of it.
I get to be an Apple!
The game starts with your grandfather on his deathbed. No, it's not secretly a horror game, it's just your grandpa passing and leaving his farm to you.

Ugh, where to begin.
Look, I haven't liked much of Sonic after Adventure on the Dreamcast, and if you ask me it's for good reason.(Mania is the real exception to that.) I did like the 3D Green Hill Zone in Sonic Adventure 2 and …
I'm already getting into a different game.
So, Shadow …

My nostalgia is really active lately. And, full disclosure, I was terrible at this game as a kid, and more than twenty years later, I'm no better.

Okay, so for anyone who thinks that Episodic games are a new thing. Nope, they've been around a long time. The difference here being that the whole game was too large for removable media at the time.

So you get a blurb of story while a midi of The Halls of Montezuma plays.

So I picked up my psp 3000 for the first time since I got my hands on my 3ds and then 2ds...wow did I forget how much I love this thing.

Now as a lady gamer, I know immediately people will ask things like "Oh how big is your farm?", ya...no. I keep two games on my htc 1, mlp the game and equestrian girls the game (google store them, you wont be upset, considering these two games are the ONLY freaking mlp games out there. Sigh.

So I've been busy playing a game called Graveyard Keeper - a very meticulous and lengthy game - so I've been a bit side-tracked a little, but I'm hoping to get back to writing some time soon.

Deals without how the ghosts choose their target space.

Tactic called grouping, which is designed to keep the ghosts together to eat them easier and, perhaps more importantly, reduce your numerical disadvantage.

Mistakes. · 11:15am Dec 4th, 2018

I've made a grand mistake. Super-duper big mistake.

So my friend recommended Divinity Original Sin 2 to me, and it happened to be on sale recently, so, intrigued, I picked it up.

Wooooooooo boy was that ever the mistake. Now I'm hooked and it's eating all my free time. Even worse is that it's a great game with a story that keeps egging me on, interesting combat, and most importantly... it's a grindy RPG. It's sorta the same way Skyrim got me playing that, too.

Help.

A new game review on the The Runaway Rainbow Game Boy Advance port is up. If you are unaware, the game is based on one of Gen 3's episodes called The Rainbow Princess Celebration. Will this be another Mario is Missing or worse?

Retro Corner: Splatterhouse (TurboGrafx 16) Review · 6:11am Oct 19th, 2017

A review of Splatterhouse for the TurboGrafx 16 was just posted from Retro Corner. In a time before Doom and Mortal Kombat would making headlines for their gory content, there were a few games that manged to get released during the late 80's that would be considered mature rated. This was Splatterhouse, a game that originally was released for the arcade in 1989 and was known for its gore and use of certain religious material that wasn't seen in gaming before during that time.

I played Diablo · 4:01am Nov 7th, 2020

Diablo, another Blizzard original. Unlike their two “Craft” series Diablo is a top down dungeon crawler game. And it has a fairly simple control setup. It's doesn't take up much room, and is definitely important to the series as a whole. Though getting it to run on a modern system does require a DosBox.

A game with no threats.

It's fascinating how a game with no real threat throughout the game can still be so gripping. The game is a point and click puzzle game and let's you freely explore and solve the puzzles. There's no set order to solve the puzzles, no railroading to speak of. You can freely roam and do whatever.

I'm on a kick of replaying games from when I was younger.

This was a fun one. More for the aesthetic and constant jokes/references than the game play. It's actually a pretty standard top down shooter. You are a flying beer bottle that can move easily along the x and y axis to dodge attacks and enemies, or to more easily attack.
