I do regret making stories related to the Conversion Bureau. I hated the concept so much that I wanted to make fun of it. Or even make a 'hatefics' towards it.
They were always pro-human. Don't get me wrong, I could never write... a pro-conversion bureau story.
As before, a passage from Galvanized. The tentpole moments in the story were everyman protagonist Kevin seeing how the HLF's struggle to turn away the ponies actually went down, and it was these moments I had actually drafted up to act as waypoints for the plot. Like Mad Max in the excellent recent movie Fury Road, he is less of a "main character" and more of the vessel through which we follow a larger story.
As you may have noticed, I am now Convair. Aside from that, updates to TCB:JR, THFB as well as new content are coming, albeit slowly. Real life has kicked me in the ass the last year or so, and keeping myself up and running has been somewhat of a challenge lately.
Hey everyone, Doktor here and I want to consult you on something: I had been writing a side story for the story named Spectrum, a story that belongs to The Conversion Bureau Franchise. I had written one and a half chapters for the story I had in mind and I am planning to continue and join this project.
Should I go for it?
This is a scene from my cancelled TCB story Galvanized in which the protagonist, Kevin, meets with Oklahoma's HLF head honcho in a kind of interview/acclimatization process. I never edited, beta'd, or even second-passed the chapter this scene was in, so it stands as-is, but as a concept for a set-piece I'm proud of it (it's also where the title-drop occurs) and wanted to share it.

I don't plan making more TCB stories (at least not soon), but I wanted to do this because I never saw it done.
I'm having some really conflicted feelings about The View Over Atlantis. I'm just about to wrap up what I think of as "Book One" of the story. After that, there should be a change in setting and tone as we get into the next phase, or the next book.
So it's been a while, huh? I kept sitting down and wanting to type up a blog post on what progress I was making, but then kept either having real life intervene or writer's block set in and refuse to get off my couch. But, as those who are following the story will have been notified, I posted Dogs of Winter's latest chapter. There's the epilogue still to go before I can mark the story as complete, but I think I can get that one knocked out before too much longer pending anything else going on.

Both stories are about some variant of Celestia trying to turn humans into ponies, though depending on interpretation CelestAI is somewhat less malicious about it due to being basically programmed that way. I'd get the feeling that CelestAI would read the NewFoals as being … warped enough to be no longer humans, and an active force taking her "subjects" away from her. So Horse Skynet vs Magic Horse invasion or something.
Good guy CelestAI? Maybe?

Well, now that this journal is out, I figure I should speak my own truth.
I’m not really sure how to begin this one out, but I guess the first thing to do is to rip off the band aid.
I’m going to be completely honest and admit that I just can’t do this anymore.
The TCB story revolves around a central theme, "Don't Put Your Dick In Crazy."
Remember that.
My job, as the author, is to convince you otherwise. And if you do. Even for a second. Ha!
