It happened!!!
I took a half day of work, and this afternoon, we did a final walkthrough, met the sellers for the first time, signed our names about fifty times (official count pending), and now, finally, after so many months of work, my husband and I are the proud owners of a soul-crushing amount of debt a house!!!

This happens to me every freaking year. 
I don't know why, but the first of June to me is always this wake-up call that the year is roughly half over, and it's a pretty start reminder of how quickly time has been passing.
So what the hell have I been doing with my time?

I'd say I've been quiet lately, but it's more like I've been directing my incredibly loud voice elsewhere. If you follow me on Twitter, you've no doubt seen that I've been very vocal with my representative since the election. It's been hard to get a straight answer from him, but I got to speak to him once, and I'm sure as hell going to continue as long as I see ways we can improve. But enough politics! Let's get on to ponies!

Both of those have chapters that are in-progress. I am trying to find time to write, but it's been rough going lately.
It's true! I'm arriving late Thursday evening and staying until Monday morning. I'll probably go to a bunch of the writing track stuff and then try to hang out with folks as much as possible.

Today, a reader told me something that brought a tear to my eye: I'd helped them come out as gay to their parents.
A lot of feelings raced through my head and my heart as I read the message: happiness for them for taking the plunge, relief once they said it had gone mostly well, pride that my work had some small part in it, and joy that, with every person who comes out, the world gets a little brighter for the next person that realizes they're queer.
