In an interview with CBR, Sugar has confirmed that Steven never forgave the Diamonds. With all the events that happened before and during the series, I truly can't blame him for feeling that way. You can see the discomfort in his face during his interaction with them in the movie and Homeworld Bound.
There's an audio clip circulating around YouTube that is from an upcoming episode of Steven Universe Future. Steven struggles to talk about his feelings to Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. Apparently, he crushed the van with Greg in it and denies having an outburst when he's clearly having one. He needed some personal space, but the Gems know that something's wrong. He's losing control of his anger and they tried to calm him down, but to no avail. I'm just afraid that he would turn into a corrupted

This cartoon is considered a game-changer for:
1) It is Cartoon Network's first animated series to be created solely by a woman
2) It defied stereotypical gender norms
March 27, 2020 was the premiere date of the final 4 episodes of Steven Universe Future and the entire SU franchise. The epilogue limited series focused on the aftermath of the events of the original series and Steven's experience with psychological trauma.
