I will try to get an update on the Starlight fic within the next seven days. I have a bit more free time. I know it's been two months since any updates, and I plan on finishing the fic eventually.

I am first going to admit that Self-Inserts have never been my cup of tea. Even when I was a teenager and young man participating in role-playing games, I preferred pretending to be someone else. But I do think that it is possible to write a self-insert reasonably well and here I will briefly discuss how to do it.
So i already know i will look back on this post and think of how dumb i sounded and maybe it's because i'm currently in the middle of a mental breakdown but i had a thought, what if i wrote about my life?

So... where to begin.
Okay, so this blog is for one of my bigger works that's currently published. What it Means, a self-insert revolving around the hero, Dee, and his adventures outside of Equestria. It was something I was quite proud to have published and I'm happy with the positive reception it's gotten and how far it's come.
I have got a couple more chapters loaded... finally, so... I'm good for the next couple of weeks before I need to seriously start panicking. To be honest, a good deal of what I've been posting up to the last couple of chapters/parts had been all but finished months ago save for one last round of edditing. I'd decided some time ago that I wasn't going to post anything until I had a goodly percentage already done.

Hey. Before I get into today's brain-dump, here's the full version of a teaser video I posted awhile back.
I don't really know what else to say except I'm sleepy. Schedule? What's that? Maybe I'll figure it out past the fold.
Last December, me and Moosetasm were goofing around with various dumb story ideas, and I threw out a silly concept based on some righteous art he did of my OC Nutmeg as a Commissar from Warhammer 40K, and we laughed, and nothing came of it.

So... what's up with this blogpost? Well, I'm curious.
Also spoilers below for anyone who hasn't read the story.
What it Means, a project of mine that centers around the protagonist, Dee, and his journey throughout the world outside of Equestria. A different take on the standard HiE trope, in a way, it's not really a Human in Equestria story so much as it is a Human in the World of Ponies trope, he's not even anywhere close to Equestria.
Updated it today, it's 3K words, do enjoy friends.
Next chapter... things are gonna get interesting...
So if anyone's been following me for a bit, they'd know I had a sequel idea in mind for Without You. Now with it being (finally) finished after what feels like a decade, I can finally get to work on the sequel and hopefully have it on a regular updating schedule. However, I got some other stuff I need to finish first before I can actively work on it, specifically, A Volatile Mixture is a story I need to finish before I get fussed at.
It'll happen though.
I was going to be more indirect, but I just want to get this off my chest: I never want to read an HiE story featuring "nondescript brony in Equestria" or "'wannabe genre-savvy "non-brony" who nevertheless knows about the show' in Equestria". Ever. The entire class of HiE work where the human is aware of MLP as an animated production is basically a write-off, as far as I'm concerned.
What's the appeal? What's even the point?

This is something completely new I want to try out to have others involved in my fanfictions! Especially future ones. While this won't be available for every current story I have I at least want to try and do a raffle or contest for The Rookie whenever we hit a milestone!
Hi all. Finally got something to say. 
So as we all should be aware, the show aired its finale a little over a week ago. I... kinda broke down at the end, though I'm aware many people also have, so I'm not going to pretend I'm special and unique because I cried when a show about ponies stopped being made.
In a previous post, I invented a categorization system for fiction based on its intent. I created three broad categories—Propaganda, Entertainment, and Art—and attempted to explain what they were.
It took my entire young life to perfect a story I just posted, and it's still not good enough.
At least I don't think it is, right now.
I'll probably go back to it at some point now and again to edit it, revise it, etc.
Ah well.
