Music for Writing: Post Diez - Proddin' the Muse (Songs to Get Started) · 9:12pm Sep 5th, 2019

Whee, it's back! My weird post series of music shares for writing inspiration. I've also gone through my previous posts (which you can find by clicking here, or just doing a blog post search for 'Music for Writing') and removed all the dead links.

Music for Writing: Post Nueve - Mixed Bag (Love Probz) · 2:01am Mar 5th, 2018

So this is a mixed bag in that I'm presenting different genres... but the songs each deal with that oft-writ about subject: love.

Something more energetic for the lover wronged-- if you want to do a story for something that involves someone getting over an ex, or maybe going to-toe-to-toe with someone they are having sexual tension with (think Batman v. Catwoman) then this will do a decent job to get you in the mood.

Music for Writing: Post Ocho - Emotional/Rustic · 6:50pm May 20th, 2016

I haven't done reviews in a while, and I have a handwritten writing advice post I'd like to type up, but the illness that plagued my son and hubby has caught up with me, so I'm feeling rather low energy. Instead, I'll just do one of these.

Music for Writing: Post Siete - Fantasy/Magical/Adventurous · 1:42am May 10th, 2016

Hey there. Been a bit since I did one of these. Here's some music that might help fuel fantasy/Euro-centric stories. Some might be a bit new-agey with some africano beats, and one has some trippy horror elements sprinkled in, but hey... It's MY recommendations, and I like this stuff. Edit 2019: Dead links! Oh noooo... I added a new one to try to make up for some of the loss, but that still just leaves two...

Music for Writing: Post Seis - Sci-Fi/Dystopian/Cyberpunk · 7:02pm Apr 29th, 2016

My brother bought Shadowrun for the SNES, and I now found myself semi-obsessed with its 16-bit soundtrack. I downloaded a ROM of it and started a game through an emulator on my smart phone. I'm not shelling $60 bucks for an old console... At least, not right now.

Erm, anyway. What I'm trying to get as is that I feel like (retro) cyberpunk-type music, so that's what this post is gonna comprise of. Maybe next time I'll do a fantasy-themed music post. Or something piratey. I like pirates.

Music for Writing: Post Cinco - Action/Fighting/Chaos/Energetic · 3:52pm Apr 18th, 2016

I've been dying to do this one, and I'm afraid I've gone overboard. I love fight music. I love stuff that gets my blood pumping. I love imagining my characters kicking ass. So of course, I couldn't just pick three tracks. Below is a mix of EDM (drum & bass, darkcore, industrial, dub, and grind house), metal, punk, pop, and...stuff. Just stuff. Lots of stuff. Some of these have lyrics, and I separate them. Hope you enjoy! Feel free to share your favorites too.

Music for Writing: Post Tres - Romantic/Soulful/Soothing · 3:13am Apr 14th, 2016

Since I'm going to be needing these songs for a writing session myself, I just thought I'd share these tonight. They're all instrumental. Some acoustic guitar, a cinematic song prominently featuring a music box, and a Nirvana cover with xylophones. Yes, really.

Hope you liked 'em!

Music for Writing: Post Dos - Upbeat/Inspirational/Energetic/Epic · 3:20am Apr 13th, 2016

Going global with some contemporary piano from Italy, and modern folk music from Europe tonight. Everything is instrumental. Last one is good for cultural-based settings (i.e. an MLP fanfic set in Neighpon) or medieval fantasy writing. Enjoy!

Hello there. Welcome to the first of a new series of posts I'll be doing. Nothing complicated here. Just sharing some of the music I typically listen to whilst writing. Titles will usually reflect what they might be good for inspiring. Most songs will be without lyrics, but if they have lyrics I'll say so. If you can't write while hearing someone sing/rap, you might consider just focusing on the song and visualizing story ideas instead of actively writing. That's one thing I do when I'm hurting

Music to Write By: Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield · 8:50am Sep 16th, 2015

Hello, loyal fans! So before I start this post, here’s an update on art, life, etc. First of all, yes, I am working on chapter 18 of Of Night and Stone. I’m sorry for making you all wait, and I intended to have it finished during the same week as when I uploaded chapter 17. But y’know, stuff happened and it distracted me.
