Well, no.
But I can't actually remember a time when I believed he was.
I was thinking about this because my brother told me a story about H.P. Lovecraft, and how he cited his parents telling him Santa Claus isn't real as a very formative experience in his life, and made him decide God wasn't real.
Not sure if that story's true, but it's hilarious so I don't really care.
So it's no question that Lovecraft's unique brand of horror has inspired a lot of artist over the years. From stories to artwork to games and even music. His influence is vast and expansive almost as much as the universe in his stories is mysterious and cruel. I mostly wanted to go over my oldest memory of the first time I had been introduced to Lovecraft themes. I was probably about ten, or so, and we went down to the little Blockbuster which was only about a block away from my house. I got
I seriously need some co writers to help me with my stories. And tests and that includes new content as well. I want to entertain people when writing a fanfic I really do. But considering the 1st negative comment I got, it's actually difficult. And yes it is critisism but that is not constructive.
I really need constructive critisism to help me with my stories. But if it's not constructive then it would be heard for me to continue making my content.
Hello and welcome to the next installment of 'Failed Fics,' a look into the numerous fanfics I've started but ultimately had to kill. Their stories vary, but the themes are the same; they just didn't belong in this world.
This one goes back a while, and it's a story I labored over for years; 'For the Love of the Craft,' my attempt at horror, comedy, and buddy adventure stories all in one neat package.
I proudly present to you an audio reading of Lovecraft's Ex Oblivione. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did finally get to make another video again.
I've been lying this whole time. My name isn't Robert nor am I human. I am Laiflorpo, eater of worlds. I was supposed to eat Earth a long time ago and almost did, until... I discovered this fandom.
Friendship truly is magic.
When eldritch horrors are concerned, I am a cosmic failure. I couldn't even consume my first planet. I'M A FAILURE!!!
I don't deserve you love, praise or adoration.
I hope you all have a good day.
Or thoughts over coffee more like. (It's early. Let me have my quirky phrases please.)
Exactly what it says on the tin. More than 100,000 words later, my tale of an angsty necromancer and her unflappable minion and friend has come to a close. Here it be. If you haven't already taken a gander, and if you liked Mendacity (or heck, even if you didn't), please, take a look—and if you've been following along all this time, thank you, and I hope this finale to my tale satisfies.
The name H.P. Lovecraft is synonymous with thinking man's horror. He turned his greatest fears into some of mightiest works of fear and terror that have been ever set down on the page and in doing so gave birth to an entire genre of literature and placed terms such as "eldritch abomination" into usage. It is thus no small wonder that many writers on this site have attempted to copy his style through both original and derivative works of their own.
That's right. And this time it's the Halloween in April contest. I figured I'd try my hand at writing in the style of Lovecraft, and I believe I was pretty spot-on (whether that be good or bad is up to one's preference). Already saw some entrants hitting the front page so dunno about my chances, but it was still fun to do. Go check out it out for yourself.
Fungi from Yuggoth, to be specific.
So I thought I'd try my hand at it. Bear in mind, I am terrible at poetry, so cosmic horror won't be the only frightful thing.
Click past the page break, if you dare.
Every night, as I put my daughter into her cot, I read her a story. We bought this lovely little box of Friendship is Magic books, and I let her pick one (usually it is what ever one she puts in her mouth first)
She's been waking a lot lately with nightmares, and I think I have found out why…
