Okay, the ToonKritic scenario has been the worst in this fandom, for various reasons, in my perspective:
A. This fandom didn’t gave a flying fuck about Toon’s actions, before pedophillia.
B. There are still so many fucking pedophiles in this fandom, it’s not even funny.
C. (And I forgive nothing when I say this) our moderators are half the pervert ToonKritic was.

Today is kinda an important day in Canada. But hey, fuck them, it's Canada, right? Well, hockey aside, this is something that country is doing right.
So last night I finally finished Season 8.
Well... that was a thing that happened, wasn't it?
We all love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It's the reason we're all even here on this site, after all. And most of us like Equestria Girls. And, of course, we all like making up stories about these characters and places that have captivated our imaginations.
Fandoms get weird when the end of the fandom's base is coming. I've seen it multiple times. And with it comes the doomsaying.
The god damn doomsaying.
As we all know, Friendship is Magic is ending after the current season and as of this upcoming Saturday (6/22/2019), we'll officially have reached the halfway point of the final season in the US. We know that DHX has officially wrapped production on both Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls.
Continuing our look at bizarre modern fandom behavior, there's been this ridiculous obsession with details running amok of late. One of the more egregious examples I came across recently was in EQDs comment section (which some might say shows a complete lack of judgment on my part. These people are correct more often than not.)
Getting back on the rant pony for a bit.
One of the criticisms I see lobbied frequently at Equestria Girls is that there's too many "slice of life" episodes.
As opposed to what in FiM? Just about 80% of the given episodes could be a "slice of life" stories. Yes, even ones where a character is called by the map. The big climactic events are the outliers, not the norm. Seriously, how many "big" events have we had over the course of the series?
A preface: This isn't just about MLP fandom, it's about the nature of fandom in general and will most likely veer off into "Old Man Yells at Cloud" territory at some point.
I've been noticing something of late. Certain high profile Equestria Girls fans on this site are complaining about the alleged lack of villainy from Vignette Valencia in "Rollercoaster of Friendship." They claim she was boring and the whole social media maven thing wasn't even worth the effort and she was a one-note villain.

So, around about the end of Season Six, when the latest Civil War of the Fandom was over the inclusion of Starlight Glimmer as a recurring cast member, I wrote this essay attempting to explain why, at that time, I didn't like her all that much in a calm, reasonable way.
Well, we all know what calm and reasonable gets us around here, don't we?
So I've been reading books on Superman lately for a project I have coming up in the new year and I've come across a term that really sums up the fandom experience for me.
So, the word has come down and it's official: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will be ending after Season 9. We still have a couple of rumored TV specials afterward, but as far as a regular TV show goes, it's all over. The new MLP movie Hasbro announced during Toy Fair will most likely be the start of Gen 5, and who knows what form that will take.1
Oh, fans. Fans, fans, fans.
So ready to offer their opinion on the plausibility or implausibility of the various elements of something they love. And in the case of our favorite pony-turned-human who lives in the suburbs populated by an amazing rainbow colored spectrum of people, one of the first things they latch onto in the plausibility train is the living conditions of our now main character.
The following is a list of various elements of fan fiction on this site that I truly no longer have any interest in. While exceptions can be made on a case by case basis, by and large, if your story contains one or more of these, I can guarantee you I will probably not read your story or may abandon reading after the first chapter (or shortly thereafter if said element(s) show up later in the story).
