Wishing you and all of yours the joy of the Christmas season. I haven’t stopped writing, but I have slowed a little (so much chocolate and cake), so I thought I should give a quick status report, along with a seasonal Sweetie Belle clip I shared two years ago below the break.
Welcome to the Wizarding World of Twilight Sparkle, fun-sized. Be aware that the story is framed to be about eight chapters long or so, and only the first five are done, so those last two might take a few weeks. I'm publishing now under Georg's April Foolishness, because otherwise it might not see the light of day for months, and since S9 is coming, I thought I better show it off.

When writing a crossover, one of the hardest things is to keep the characters straight. If you’re one of my editors, you will notice a scratchpad of info fragments that keeps getting pushed down the writing surface as I add things, but for larger and more populated stories, I have to make a separate document with characters, event timing, etc… I’d say “Just like JK Rowling” only she’s a much more prolific writer and can draw.
Curse you, Admiral Biscuit! You got me writing on the One Shot Tober project, and I’ve been busy cranking out a lot of little bits that never would have seen the light of day otherwise, from 1940 aftershots to Harry Potter seeds. I’m going to put the whole thing up as one giant compilation file at the end of October, because I don’t want to clean up a post every day, but I’ll let you peek at some of it now so you know I’m still here. Two bits. No more. Ok, three.

A little something for you on this the next-to-last day of NaPoWriMo, in which Harry Potter accidentally summons a small purple unicorn into his magic-hating aunt and uncle's house. To be honest, it's been helpful to put the page drafts of HPLPP up for comments as I go along, but I don't want to clutter anybody's feed, so let me drop a page break here and you can peek beyond if you're interested in following along.
Seemed a little slow today, so thought I'd toss out a big chunk of Sweetie Belle - Hogwarts Exchange Student for you to look at. Remember when I said the complexity of a story is at least the cube of the number of characters involved? Did you ever wonder why JK Rowling made the section of Harry Potter where he gets his wand a one-to-one interaction with Mister Ollivander? That's why. Getting these three kids wands is likely to chew up chunks of three chapters in the story. See it below

NaNoWriMo is over, 10,500 words total for me. It's a little low, but I had some real world stuff. I'm going to keep writing on my two Harry Potter crossovers, editing for a few other authors, and get ready for Christmas. And I got you something early. As you may have heard, I’m going to try to work through NaPoWriMo with a story called (at the moment) Sweetie Belle - Hogwarts Exchange Student. Naturally, the title should give you an idea of what the story is about, and in the spirit of the month, I will be writing on it, with little things like editing, cleaning up old stories, or adding to my existing works in progress being put on hold. In short, the following stories (with wordcounts) are getting parked for a month:
