"As for Slayer itself, we're still having discussions around feasibility."
"Historically, a Slayer only playlist and an Objective only playlist always resulted in the Obj playlist quickly becoming unhealthy."
343 Industries' Community Manager, ladies and gents.
They are apparently discussing the feasibility of including the most popular playlist in franchise history. The feasibility.
And this was, quite literally, my secret weapon.
Just a few tidbits:
-You have to pull it BEFORE you either activate the first FOB or board the Pelican for the first time, not sure which. I grabbed it before taking over the FOB.
-Once you have it, do not drop it.
-Don't worry about close range kills, splash damage to yourself is disabled with it.
Husky Raid is a very fast-paced variant of Capture the Flag that was introduced in Halo 5. Everyone spawns with random weapons and equipment, and the maps are single corridors with a couple side halls for flanking. It came back this week in Infinite.
The last time I got an Extermination was all the way back in Halo 3 during a match of Grifball when 3 out of 4 members of the enemy team were AFK.
This time, it was for real.
Pros
Cons
If you've managed to stay off the internet the last few days, then you may have missed this.
As of right now, Halo Infinite's multiplayer is live. They've calling it a "beta" but the battle pass is also live, and everything carries over to the launch in December.
I'm thinking about streaming some, but I'm, uh, I'm sucking right now, and I'll get back to you on that.
The top post on r/Halo this morning is evidence of all the store bundles leaked, revealing that you would have to spend a total of $1,035 to unlock everything that is not obtainable by playing.
For the past couple days, there's been a rumor swirling in the Halo community that the multiplayer component of Halo Infinite is going to be surprise-launched on Monday, which is Halo's, and Xbox's, 20th birthday. Multiple sources have chimed in, and 343, normally extremely quick on the draw to squash rumors that are not true, have been completely silent on this matter so far.
Hey all.
Just a heads up that I am planning on streaming Halo Infinite's campaign as I go in blind tomorrow.
No, I do not have a specific time for you, because the 1PM EST time is apparently when you can begin downloading it.
So likely late afternoon to evening.
Anyone else remember midnight releases?
Welcome to Modern GamingTM.
Part of me wants to be enraged that there isn't an achievement for that, but to be fair, there are individual achievements for collecting all the separate pieces of content; audio logs, cores, lockers, etc.
So now, there's only one thing left to do, and hopefully I'll make a dent in it before returning to work on Tuesday.
Yeah, so I haven't touched Infinite in two days.
After the weekly ultimate challenge was "get five killing sprees in Fiesta" (but Frenzies and Riots don't count) and their absolutely pathetic response to the cheating and hacking (see above), I'm going to try and finish RDR2 PC before the campaign hits.
The gunplay is always nice and tight
The maps are such a lovely sight
But the progression system is purely ass
Do not buy the Battle Pass
The Halo World Championships were absolutely amazing.
Saturday was crammed with upset after upset after upset, as many high-tier teams were knocked down to the Elimination Bracket early.
At the end of the broadcast, they announced a surprise armor coating available in the HCS Store.
Not bad. In fact, one of the best looking ones yet. Yes, I bought it (I have credits left over from months ago).
Alright, so last Monday, 343 Industries released Halo Infinite's multiplayer a week early before the official launch date of December 8th. Let's take a look at the various areas of the game, and compare them to previous titles.
Campaign: N/A / 10
Obviously, campaign is unable to be reviewed right now, but I've heard almost nothing but good things. By far, this is the portion of the game I am looking forward to the most.
Core Gameplay: 9/10
So there are unconfirmed reports this week that among Microsoft's company-wide layoffs, around half of the staff of 343 Industries is included in the fallout.
Welp, after all the heaps of praise that the Halo Infinite tech test got a few weeks ago, 343 has come forward and announced that Halo Infinite will not launch with co-op or Forge.
So after a delay of an entire year, Halo Infinite will launch without a feature that has been in the franchise, at launch, for 20 years.
But it's worth it to end my staycation in this way.
The final phase of the final boss took me NINETY MINUTES, but that's what it takes to be part of the 0.01% currently.
Is it magic?
No, can't be. The only magic is friendship.
Nope, it was me finally getting fed the fuck up with the mind-blowing incompetence of 343 Industries.
More time for writing ponies, I guess.
Currently tearing my hair out trying to find a piece of music that is not on Halo Infinite's official soundtrack.
I don't think anyone has ripped the music right out of the game yet.
