WTF? · 3:20pm Sep 22nd, 2019

I was just wondering if someone could clear this up for me. Just watched part of the most recent episode. It was cute, and showed once again the power of friendship, this time including Daring Doo. My question though is this...in the course of the episode, Cabelleron(?) learns of Daring Doo and A.K. Yearling being the same pony. But, in "Daring Don't" his henchponies tracked down A.K. Yearling and she reveled herself to be Daring Doo. Did someone forget to inform the boss of this development?

MLP: A New Generation Thoughts · 7:20pm Sep 24th, 2021

Howdy howdy~

Derply here dropping off some quick thoughts on the introduction to Gen Five that just dropped today on Netflix!

Having successfully avoided almost all of the advertisements for this flic, and having successfully kept my expectations at a reasonable level, I'm happy to say that I was thoroughly entertained throughout the majority of it! All I really wanted was a return of cute ponies doing cute things, and the movie delivered that in spades ^_^

The Insane Pursuit of Perfection · 2:51pm Jan 2nd, 2019

As I continue to work on the first chapter of my second story, I took a moment to take yet another look at my first story. It was actually the second one I had written for the site, but the first one was just way too much of a copy of the most of the stories I had read, so I didn't publish it. In reading back through story two, I noticed several minor errors in how I had written the dialogue. They weren't serious ones, but they annoyed me some, and I was tempted to make corrections. But, there

No Skimping · 2:49am Apr 10th, 2018

On a slow day last week, I reviewed the full list of the episodes from all seven completed seasons to get a count of how many I hadn't seen, or hadn't seen all of. I didn't think it would be a lot, but in the end it turned out to be 26. Some of them didn't sound interesting to me from the description, or had stories that bothered me, many times including Starlite. But if one has delusions of writing fan fiction, you really shouldn't do that. So my project for the next week or so is to actually

Stalling Out · 9:20pm Apr 23rd, 2019

These last few weeks, I've found my self with way too much time on my hands due to a recent medical procedure. When I was thinking about ahead of time, I was like "O.K...I can get work done on my latest story." Well, it hasn't been that simple. Instead of being incredibly productive, I've found myself spending way too much time on Facebook and YouTube. The boredom has been just too much. I guess if nothing else, it all shows that I need more ways to distract myself. So, all I can say is that

So, about that Generation 5 Movie... · 8:39am Feb 25th, 2021

If you haven't heard, Entertainment Weekly has released a short synopsis and the first official picture from the upcoming generation 5 Netflix film. I took a look at it and... well, I think it's a slap in the face to not only fans of Generation 4, but to Twilight and her friends, because all their struggles and sacrifices, all their loses and their triumphs were ultimately

I'm making good progress on the next chapter of my latest story, and I expect to post it probably in a week give or take. This story has caused me to adopt a rather unusual method for writing, in that I start out on a conventional Word document, and then transfer it to the site to finish. It has the advantage of getting me away from my little laptop, and allows me to work on my story from anywhere that I can sign into. I think that the white on dark grey format that I use here on the site is

Transistion to Generation 5. · 8:10am Nov 5th, 2021

Here is my theory as to what caused the three tribes of ponies to turn against each other. It all started as soon as all the alicorns and the Mane Six were gone, but not before they created an amulet that controlled all the magic in Equestria and kept the windigoes away in case of more feuding. The three tribes then squabbled over how Equestria should be run that it then caused the amulet to brake into three componants. As a result, all the magic in Equestria faded away, rendering the pegasi

Second Thoughts and Other such Things · 2:56am Aug 5th, 2018

As some of you may have noticed, (though thankfully not too many of you) I recently pulled down one of my blogs. It wasn't much, though I put a lot into it. It was my attempt to talk at least a bit about what seemed to me to be a rather nasty sounding story. But it seemed a bit much for me to take on. Lord knows I am in no way an expert on much of anything, and I have no business giving advice.

The dangers of long stories · 1:37pm Jul 12th, 2018

I discovered just yesterday that a favorite ongoing story that I've been following has been declared complete. Normally, that would be a good thing, not of course because you want to see it end, but because of the sense of achievement that the author must feel. But unfortunately, the ending that we got was actually because of lost interest, and changing circumstances which forced an obviously premature conclusion.

Disappointed · 3:53am Sep 25th, 2017

No one wants to be lectured on morality, so I'm not going to. But I read a story tonight that got me thinking. All I'm going to say is that if I ever get that cynical in my writing, I only hope that someone out there gets on my case, and better yet, tells me where to stick it. Yes, you can consider that permission from me.

It sucks getting older · 2:49am Mar 28th, 2018

Found out today that life is going to get quite a bit more complicated. It appears that I'm looking at some medical issues, the kind that come from reaching a certain age. I guess it's not worth getting too worried about, but life will never be the same. All I can say is, enjoy your youth, cause it wont last forever.

Inspiration in the midst of a pandemic · 2:50pm Dec 19th, 2020

Today I did something that was probably way overdue, I trimmed down the number of stories that I was following. I wasn't that I wasn't still interested in the stories on the list, but I had to conclude that those stories probably weren't going anywhere. Some of them I moved to my favorites list, but others I cut lose.

Two more chapters · 8:24pm May 6th, 2021

In the last few weeks, I actually managed to get a bit more of both "The Blue and the Grey" and "Danger Close" out there. I figure that "The Blue and the Grey" has probably two more chapters to go, but I really don't have a final idea for "Danger Close" yet. I'd like to finish these darn things, but the last thing that I want is something rushed, or just plain abandoned. I've read a story like that, where a complex setup went in the course of one chapter to "and they all lived happily ever

Where were you when all hell broke lose? · 9:10pm Mar 15th, 2020

As I write this day, I'm hearing more news about the virus that is making our lives so complicated these days. As you can imagine, it hasn't been good news. In fact it sounds like a borderline clusterfuck. I don't know who to blame for this, or if it's worth trying to narrow it down right now, but it is discouraging. I've seen any number of people on Facebook posting their activities, seemingly bragging about not taking the whole situation seriously. Personally though, I don't have that luxury,

How is everyone out there? · 9:36pm Aug 25th, 2020

How has everyone handled the new plague? I have to ask, given that it has come way too close to yours truly. It happened a bit over a week ago, at a car show. It turned out that my nephew had covid, and wasn't feeling quite right, but went to the show anyway. I went too, making sure to wear my mask as much as I could. We hung out, and I think that I had the mask on most of the time, but I can't testify to it. He mentioned at the time that he wasn't feeling well, and I think that I suggested
