Another Free Game - Dark Souls · 8:03am Mar 9th, 2016

While work is ongoing on various things, including several stories and review sets, someone brought it to my attention that the original Dark Souls game is (temporarily) freely available - a website (the Golden Joystick store) is giving away keys here.

Dark Souls is an interesting (if difficult) action "RPG" style game. If you don't already own it, well, here's an opportunity to get it for free.

Free Games on Steam · 10:44pm Feb 16th, 2016

Quick heads up to any gamers amongst my followers: apparently Sega is giving away a set of games for free today on Steam, including the classic arcade game Golden Axe, a game about spraypainting graffiti on stuff called Jet Set Radio, and Hell Yeah!, which is some sort of 2D platformer. Apparently, there's going to be another set of free games from Sega in a few days.

Anyone want a free game from my youth? · 1:55am May 4th, 2016

I'm feeling generous after noticing that one of my childhood favorites, Star Wars: Rebellion (no, not the evidently very good board game version), was on sale on Steam for only a couple of bucks.

SO I've deceded to snag a copy as a gift for someone special! Aren't I just fan-freaking-tastic.

Company of Heroes 2 is free right now on Humble Bundle

So, this was a great game.

It's also probably one of the most challenging games you'll ever play. But it's worth playing.

If you also have any interest in the history of Stalinism or the Eastern Front the single player story campaign is completely worth it.

Random Game Review: Iji · 3:53pm Dec 8th, 2013

You know, it's kinda odd for me to do game reviews in this blog thing, since I'm really not much of a gamer... but lately, I've found myself distracted from MLP fanfiction by something linked to me on one of the IRCs I'm on.

The Third Annual PC Gaming Giveaway · 5:08am May 20th, 2017

Hello, you fine folks. I've come out of hiding to let you know the most magical day of the year has arrived once again. On this date, twenty-five years and a few dozen months ago, I first graced the world with my presence. Now, we all know most people are selfish bastards who only think about themselves on such occasions—and who can honestly blame them for being excited about a day when people give them free stuff for simply existing?—but if I want to rule the world one day, I need to suck up

Random Game Review: Everlasting Summer · 10:36pm May 7th, 2016

I've reviewed Katawa Shoujo when I played that one, so it's only fair I do the same for what is, in spirit, its Russian counterpart. Like KS, it's completely free, though ES does require Steam (though their slightly older versions can still be found from the official torrent distributions if you look around a bit through some probably-Russian blogs of the creators)

Random Game Review: Katawa Shoujo · 10:33pm Oct 10th, 2013

I stumbled upon this little gem while browsing TVTropes, and when I mentioned it in the irc channel of The Writer's Group later, someone there told me they'd actually recommended it there in the channel too. Anyway, apparently, the game was made by a bunch of enthusiasts on 4chan's Anime & Manga channel (/a/) who somewhat coincidentally ended up making a serious project out of a silly image from an artist who probably meant it as a rather crude

Free Game - Stories: The Path of Destinies · 10:52pm May 13th, 2018

Stories: The Path of Destinies may have a dopey name, but it is presently free on Steam. While I don't mention stuff like this too often, I thought it was worth calling this one out for a few reasons:

1) You are a bunch of incorrigible furries, and it is a game entirely populated by anthropomorphic animals.
