Whelp. I just got off the plane from Seattle to China. And then slept for twelve hours, which is significantly more than I usually get. Anyway, because it's really hard to focus on the Gathering Storm when a) you can't turn on your kindle light for fear of waking people, and b) the plane was rocking so hard I spent about an hour and a half trying to eat fried rice, I ended up watching some movies I should have seen earlier. And I wrote a bunch. There was that too.
The Great Influenza was not any seasonal flu. It killed 3% of the ENTIRE WORLD'S POPULATION. Fatality rate between 20-30% of infected people. They died ripping their diaphragms and spewing blood. Some died within 12 hours of showing the first symptoms.
The modern world would NEVER withstand such a plague today.

I had a silly idea the other day after looking at fake blind bags on a google search. So, I've started a comedy story. Hopefully you'll enjoy it, once it gets through the publication submission process. I don't know how many chapters it'll end up with, but I'll certainly add a couple more to it.

To this day, developed countries such as China, Japan, and Korea glorify the culture of overworking as a sign of loyalty to the company, to the point of passing out and/or dying. It is pretty evident that huge companies aim to maximize profits and treat employees as money-making machines and disposable slaves instead of human beings.
