Needed a break from writing. Had to go into the office to start some lab work. Took advantage of access to a scanner to digitize something I've been working on.
May I present to you:
Lumina, the Phoenix Queen
Peeks head out of rock...
Hi... It's been a little while.
Checks...
... Okay, it's been a long while. Just shy of 5 years apparently.
I'm not going to try and explain away that absence, but the main reason that I stopped - probably - is that I lost interest in the main storyline of MLP.
And now we reach the fourth of our five living Phoenix-born, and General Sentry's second: Commander Spitfire.
Hopefully doing some art for phoenix-born will help me get back into the grove. Till next time.
The current leader of the Cult of Endless Decay, Nightcrawler is an atrocity (the Chaos equivalent to an ascendant) created by D’compose in the waning days of the Skellweb Crisis. With his master's capture and Black Thorn’s death, Nightcrawler became the de facto leader of the cult. Even now, he works against Solaria in an effort to both free his master, and defeat the hated phoenix-born.

Y’know, it occurred to me a day after posting MM#1 that if any of you wanted to, you literally could have just followed the ‘similar videos’ feed on YouTube and listened to this whole album by now. It’s not like I’m holding any keys or have the ability to guard access to this album, so really, me posting them every week like this is kind of moot.
So yeah, I’m a dumbass. But hey, I said I was gonna do it, so here it goes.
Architecture of Aggression
“Lightning strikes in the sky,
Thunder peals on high,
While we sail the sea of clouds,
There is glory to be won,
Before the setting of the sun,
Let the storm be our call!
Our call!
Let the storm be our call!”
-The first stanza of the Heralds of Lightning shanty “Let the storm be our call.”
Good evening everyone.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who's favorited, commented and/or just given me a thumbs up on my latest story. I am… honestly floored by the response to Phoenix-born rising. I had hoped that it would be well received, but I never expected this level of response. I'm honestly… really moved.
Making good on my threat to do more Phoenix-born art, we get my rendition of dear Archduchess Roseluck, Amara, as well as her amps Thorn and Phlume's Kiss.
“From a seed left behind, a tree sprouts from the earth.
As its roots grow downward, it takes from the land.
As its branches grow upward, it gives back in turn.
The earth protects the roots, which the tree needs to live.
The earth demands the tree make it strong by holding the soil and rock together.
Without the earth, the tree would die.
Without the tree, the earth would never have lived.”

The tribes: despite their evolution into the three races, the descendants of the harmonious-ones retain their ancestral species's distinct tribes. As with the harmonious ones, the three sub-tribes of each race are inter-fertile with one another, yet always breed true to one of the tribes. Depending on the parent's ancestry, any child born will be terran, harpy or eldritch, while tribal identity can skip generations if enough mixing occurs. In general, in a mixed tribal pairing, any children
What it says on the tin; I finished scanning and touching up a basic map of Impreacordia, the continent where Phoenix-born Rising takes place. While lacking in pretty much all details outside the borders of Solaria and Selenia, I do plan to add to it as time goes on to help flesh out the world.
“Of all of Harmony’s creations, the most ancient yet enigmatic are the dragons. We know very little about these creatures, and what is known raises more questions. Why did the Empress create them? When did she create them? Why are they so different from all the other creatures born of her will? How is it that, among all of Harmony’s creations, they are not static in which aspect they wield, but rather have the ability to choose if they wish to bear flame, gloaming or shadow?
Blog posts aren't really something I do often, but nothing's wrong with trying something new for a change.
I've been busy lately while having nothing to do. If it seems like a massive contradiction to you, then congratulations you're in the same position I am. I've been scratching my head over it for a few days. If it makes perfect sense to you, leave a comment explaining it in a way that gives me an epiphany. I like philosophy.
So, anywho~
Working on the next chapter between grinding out my thesis. Decided to take a break and give a sort of visual guide to the sources that gave rise to the idea for the phoenix-born. It naturally started with Sunset, and evolved from there. Since a picture is worth a thousand words:

George Cukor's 3 hour musical drama is not only one of the best musical dramas of the 1950s, but also holds two absolutely astounding performances by legendary performers James Mason and Judy Garland.
Best wishes to him!
Author's notes: Running a bit behind on the writing thing due to the end of semester crunch and having to scrap a large part of what I had written because it felt janky. So, to tide everyone over until I can carve out some time to write, here's the last bit of information on the races and tribes of Nitor: the chosen ascendants of each Centaur.
