Over the course of this site's history many big named writers have left. Writers with great stories and large following.

So, is there any big writers you miss?

As of recent, B_25 is now leaving as of 2020.

My first official debut novel · 10:12pm Dec 14th, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, feels like years since I've written something on here, but I feel like announcing that I'm an official author with a thriller dark supernatural fiction novel One Girl's Army that follows a girl who loses her brother in a tragic accident and now a supernatural entity of darkness haunts her with the promise of bringing her dead brother back to life. Also, this book has two endings to make reading an enjoyable and immersive experience.

When's the Last Time You Wrote a Good Story? · 12:42am Jan 10th, 2020

For years now I've felt the best of my writing is behind me, as my ADHD, depression, and anxiety plus general personal shittyness have continued to keep me barely functioning and certainly not thriving. I look back and I used to actually sometimes write good stories. I've always written shitfics, but it used to be I'd write more than just shitfics. Now it seems that's all I can write. And it makes me sad.

Op-Ed: Five Things Non-Writers Should Know About Writers and Writing · 5:34pm May 2nd, 2017

So, you may have noticed that despite being in the place of what would normally be a Being a Better Writer post, this isn’t that. And no, it really isn’t. Though if you’re an aspiring writer, this is a good post to read, because it’s going to be helpful, so I’ll leave it tagged under BaBW.

AARGH! Writers Block! · 1:42pm Sep 27th, 2016

As the title says, I'm strugling with a bit of writers block at the moment. :applecry: :raritycry:
I started work on the next chapters some time ago, but for a couple of days now the ideas just refuse to come out, and it's driving me up the freakin wall. :twilightangry2:

Now this might be a bit of a stupid question, but does anyone have any tips or ideas that might help get rid of it? Because at this point I'm open to pretty much any suggestion. :applejackconfused:

Writer's Workshop: The Laws of Details · 10:33pm Jun 10th, 2016

There are two different writers battling in our heads: the mad genius who wants to write a six-million word epic, and the lazy genius who wants to do as little work as possible. You can write like J. R. R. Tolkien, all full of flowery descriptions and thoughtful details, or you can be Ernest Hemingway, with as few words as you need to get your point across. Putting detail into your stories is certainly not an exact science, but there are a few rules and tricks you can keep in mind to

Writer's Workshop: The Con and the Gimmick · 6:23am Jan 23rd, 2016

This time, we're talking about something a little more esoteric. Though, at the same time, I suppose it's also fundamental to the storywriting process. We're gonna talk about what happens when you put two people in a scene and have them talk to each other. To do this, I'm gonna steal two theoretical models from two very different sources: first, from the RPG system called DramaSystem; the second, from a psychological process called "Transactional Analysis."

IWAM 2: On Hold · 9:52pm Feb 17th, 2016

I know, I know. I said I would post IWAM: Til Death Do You Part in January, sadly I've gotten Writer's Block again. :ajsleepy: This leaves me without the ability to write the things to be needed. I've planned lots of things this year and IWAM 2 is number one priority on that list. So I planned this month I'll get my writing all straighten out and cure my Writer's Block and I will not rest till I have that story done! Now I leave you with stories coming soon.

The two different kinds of writer's block. · 11:30pm Sep 3rd, 2020

Hello again! Here I am, writing blogs instead of chapters for my stories, even though I really want to be writing chapters. This is because of more than just college, I'm also going through a sort of writer's block, but not the kind most people are familiar with, more on that in a bit.

holy heck i think im getting rusty at horsewords · 2:24am Dec 17th, 2019

I'm trying to write another chapter for Into Equestria at the moment, but where I'm now easily able to write 1k+ words in a single writing session for the original fiction, fanfiction-wise I've been struggling to write more than a handful of paragraphs. :facehoof:

At least I've got some already-written chapters lined up for publishing in case if things like this happen.

My problems with the view counter: alternative view for views · 9:50pm Feb 21st, 2018

6/10:applejackunsure:
Seriously, has anyone checked to make sure the view mechanics are inflatable proof? It's counts anything that views it unless they're refreshing the page, going to the next chapter, book mark it, or continuing when using another tab. That seems reasonable at first until you realize that it has two major loophole and one minor one.

It all stems from the main problem, it counts anyone viewing it whether published or unpublished!:fluttershbad:

State of the Author - September 2019 · 12:13am Oct 19th, 2019

So you may notice this blog comes over halfway through the month, for a retrospect of last month.

There is a reason for that. Call it about 160 working hours in the month so far, and then a professional exam that I had to study for and write in between that.

Mining the Writer's block · 3:44pm Oct 13th, 2015

As of late, between work, life and all-the-in-between, I have ran head first into a problem.

Writers block, correction Writer's Block mountain and it has been very hard to scale over as of late. I can only guess that I have been stuck because of the intense amount of stress going on in life as well being tired all the time. one would only think that I have busted my brain to an inoperable point.

But I have to ask folks, how does one get over writers block?

Writers Fear Post 1 · 11:19pm Jul 8th, 2018

Anyone who writes will tell you that there are three points where an author will feel truly afraid. When we write the first chapter or prologue, when we submit the story and whether people will like it. Once you know at least one person likes the story you don't care what criticism you get because there is at least one person who liked it.
