Practically an ode to parasocial relationships...
"Ana Ng" from the 1988 They Might Be Giants album Lincoln.
Also, since there's really nothing stopping me from posting two songs on a Tuesday, I guess I will.
"Mr Me", same album.

I mean, you have Devo of course, but these guys are definitely my favorite "weird" band.
I'll have plenty of stuff to share from them in the future.
But first, might as well post the one that everyone knows.
Istanbul (Not Constantinople) by They Might Be Giants from the 1990 album Flood.
And it's actually a cover.
The Johns of the band TMBG (Linnell and Flansburgh are their last names) have it right: Fimfiction can be a strange place sometimes. Especially around these parts.
"Everything Right is Wrong Again" from the 1986 They Might Be Giants self-titled debut.
Had that one saved for about a month.
"Sleeping In The Flowers", from the 1994 album John Henry by They Might Be Giants.
It's so subtle of a change to the album art (the original depicts an ancestor of each of the two band members) , but it works so well.
"They'll Need A Crane" from the 1988 They Might Be Giants (who will henceforth be referred to as TMBG) album Lincoln.
Yep, it's my birthday today.
That explains the pfp change, which even though it has a present on it, seems inconspicuous enough to not scream to everybody that IT'S MY BIRTHDAY .
(It's also the day I got my 35th follower, and the 12th anniversary of Lucky Seven's fimfiction account. Go congratulate him, he's a very good author and someone I'm happy to call myself an acquaintance of.)
They Might Be Giants made a song many years ago called Why Does the Sun Shine? which starts out with "The Sun is a mass of incandescent gas". It is a catchy song.
But, you know, that isn't really accurate. The sun isn't made of gas, it's made of plasma.
So they made a new, scientifically accurate version, Why Does the Sun Really Shine?
I mean, I wasn't really familiar with Peter Gabriel (except recognizing his name) or that specific R.E.M. song before looking up those two, but I knew the rest.
Twilight: "Once in a Lifetime" from the 1980 Talking Heads album Freedom of Choice. (The evil single edit video, but whatever.)
"Bent Out of Shape" from the 1990 album All Shook Down by The Replacements. (Their last album, and somewhat past their peak in popularity.)
This album is notable for the fact that while I love this song, I actually considered getting rid of it and haven't ever listened to it but once (and not even the entire album, at that).
(S1 Luna, I presume.)
"The Longest Time" from the 1983 album An Innocent Man by Billy Joel.
Funnily enough, this song appeared on a regular album, and it just happenes to be Christmas-adjacent at the same time.
Fluttershy's coloration bothers me a little bit, but it's otherwise a good art piece.
"Where Your Eyes Don't Go" from the 1988 They Might Be Giants album Lincoln.
I mean, it's TMBG, so of course it's dealt with in a somewhat humorus way.
Existential dread with a dash of humor, songified.
"Older", from the 1999 album Long Tall Weekend by They Might Be Giants.
Interesting note: until a 2023 vinyl release, that album was only commercially available as a digital download.
Somehow, I yet again found a few Carrot Top images good enough to post here. So I'll fulfill my "duty", as it were.
Fimfic has a few Rick & Morty crossover stories, but I've yet to find one that includes their actual cameo in the "Grannies Gone Wild" episode.Um, are you sure this is better than the Whirly Dirly?
