Late Night Blog Post #17 · 8:14am Jan 10th, 2020

The rewrites have been released!

Yes, the fables were true! The Rewrites foretold by tales of old have come to fruition. That which was thought to be but a myth for generations has finally come true.

In all seriousness, I DO apologize for getting this out. It was a combination of factors that I won't get into, but here y'all go. Let me know what you think. The link to the original versions of this story will be in the description of the story as well as the bottom of this very post.

Blog Post #15 · 2:41am Nov 5th, 2019

Greetings from my college's library.

Textbook Soldier's rewrites will be released here soon along with Chapter 10! One editor is finished with the rewrites, but I'm still waiting on the others to finish up. When they go out, I'll try and post a recap blog post of what's new and what's been removed. Maybe I'll format it like patch notes to entertain myself until I get to the part where I have to format it like patch notes. That's where it gets you.

I bet you thought I was dead.

So, yeah. That happened. I got really stuck on Chapter 10 after I released 9, and then school was an absolute nightmare. Turns out, not living on campus just makes it really hard to be successful your first year of college unless you're ready to work twice as hard. Or maybe not, and I just suck. But I need friends at school to be successful, and I had none because I didn't live on campus.

But this isn't a therapy appointment.

Textbook Soldier: Chapter 9 · 4:23am Jun 8th, 2019

It's done, but it needs editing. Look for it coming soon.

Also, if you're interested in doing a bit of pre-reading (whether it be just for this chapter or the whole story from here on) send me a message!

See you all soon!

Also, I just realized I sent this exactly one month after my last one. Jesus, this writer's block was terrible.

Blog Post #10 and Textbook Soldier Mini-Hiatus · 5:44am Jul 8th, 2019

Yes, the dreaded words are here. No, not "New Blog Post from Backslasherton" I mean "Story Hiatus". No, I'm not not writing, I'm just not writing new stuff (temporarily). I've been rereading Textbook Soldier to try and remember everything, and I felt the entire time that there was no sense of coherency. Like, nothing really felt connected and planned. What was worse, still, is that I started a lot of subplots that I forgot about or that were irrelevant to the story. And then...

New Cover Art! · 9:43pm May 7th, 2019

We've got new cover art for Textbook Soldier! All the thanks and praise to PillowRabbit and their amazing skills that brought you this art! The terrible attempt at graphic design to put the text over it is the work of yours truly. I'm sticking to writing from now on.

Cover Art:

Let me know what y'all think!

Well, here we are.

I started doing these just because I was bored, and now I continue them because I hate when I find a story I want to read that it hasn't been updated in a while and I check the author's blog and they haven't posted in four years but it says "Last Online: 3 hours ago."

Not So Late Night Blog Post #5 · 3:47pm Mar 19th, 2019

Long time no see from me. I just wanted to come in and say I'm not dead, and that this story is still going strong. I've been having some serious writer's block and also been distracted by other stories and other ideas floating around my head. Plus, I actually started reading stories on here again, which is something I don't often do anymore. I can never find really good stories that just draw me in completely and captivate me, leaving me wanting more.

Until now.

Long time no jack shit from my end.

Sorry about that.

Work on new stuff is going slow, not gonna lie. Been having real tough writer's block (Maybe something else, too, since I misspelled "tough" three times now, including in this explanation). The thing that pisses me off, though, is the fact that I've already plotted out what I want to do and where I want to go with the chapter, but I just can't force myself to write it. This is garbage.

If you need a little bit of inspiration, check this video out:

It reminded me of why I do this. Not for the feature box, but because you all enjoy what I do. So from me, I want to thank all of you for supporting me and my writing. It's not the greatest work of literature by far, but I appreciate your support nonetheless.

See you all soon,
Backslasherton.

Jesus Christ, it's been over eight years since I joined this website. Eugh. Time flies, I suppose.

So, what would I say of my time on this website? A few words describe it, though they carry mixed emotions.

I'm sorry, guys. I lied to all of you. It is absolutely inexcusable, and I understand that now. It was a moment of poor foresight and irrational decision making. This breach of trust will take a long time to patch, with much efforts on either side. I will do everything in my power, with the help of some trusted appointed individuals, to bridge this gap that has been formed between us. There is nothing I'd like to do more than help you all in however you may need to reconcile with my mistakes. I

Random Late Night Blog Post #1 · 10:10am Jan 4th, 2019

I couldn't sleep tonight, and I was bored, so I thought I'd come on here and write a long blog post. Fair warning, I'll be using a fuck load of equipment jargon in this post. If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here for an Imgur album I made explaining what everything is.

I wanted to talk about WW2 equipment and, more specifically, reenacting. This'll be a more of a stream of consciousness thing, so bear with me.
