Having grown very distressingly short on cash, I was just browsing through Upwork, looking for something that doesn't require a bunch of previously logged experience as a requirement and isn't buried in 50+ applications already. Eventually I came across this posting.
We understand: Shadow of an Empire can be a daunting prospect for a reader. A nine-hundred-plus page book? In paperback? Is it even worth the money? The reviews say yes, but folks don’t always trust reviews. They’d like to experience what’s between the pages themselves.
We get it: It’s daunting to be asked to spend money on a book when you won’t be certain that you’ll like it or not. And when that book is an 1100-page Sci-Fi Epic, and the first title in a trilogy atop that, the hesitation can be brutal indeed.
Hey guys! Fresh back from day 1 of the LTUE writing con and feeling good! So I decided, hey, why not give some prospective readers another sample of something from Unusual Events? And why not from one of my favorite stories in the set?
So, here it is, a look at the first chapter of Unusual Events‘ novella: SUPER MODEL.
Hey there all you pony fiction lovers out there I'm writing a new story featuring the soft spoken but totally amazing mare Fluttershy featuring Pinkie Pie the precociously pretty and pink party pony who is positively ready for the featured events of Flutter's evening. This would be my first work of fiction ever posted to the site; and I want to make it a multi-chapter multi-story saga. I hope it is well received by the community.
So yea, this is my blog, so I'm gonna try again to get my followers interested in my actual original story, this time with a sample. Here's a battle scene that I seriously doubt your gonna see the likes of in any other children's story:

Well, we’ve reached this moment. We’ve seen Jake. We’ve seen Anna. That just means that there’s one member of the trio left to get our early look at.
I am still writing so have a small snippet...
. “That better?” Hero’s new voice cracked, squeaked and wavered.
Tidbit nodded, not trusting himself to speak.
“Good”. Hero then giggled, her grin widening.
Tidbit and Emjay exchanged worried looks.
“Are you feeling-“
“Let’s do this! “Hero interrupted Tidbit and pranced off over the rise.
“We are so fucked”, Emjay muttered, as she trudged after the Crazy.
So need to finish this chapter! I will I promise!

I'm not dying or anything. I went into one for a research study on BP brains, which I got paid for (woohoo!).
I always assumed the scanner would make this loud clanging or thumping sound because that's what I'd heard in the movies. Admittedly the movie that first comes to mind is The Exorcist, so I think I'm a BIT dated on that front, but as far as I'm aware, most other popular media use the big clanging sound as well.

So last night I was browsing the web before (planning) to go to sleep when I spotted a writing prompt on Reddit, and well … the creative brain took over. Next thing I knew it was past 1 AM, and I’d written a fun little story about man who makes a deal with a witch for his firstborn child, but has already, unbeknownst to her, cheated.
