While this weekend's (US) episode was quite good, there were hints of the problems inherent with Equestria's Enlightened Despotism. In the process of writing this, I've partially talked myself around: This episode portrays a far healthier system than Princess Spike, though there are still a few problems. Analysis follows
The Royal Guard. As in the guard of the princesses/equestria or whatever. Are they a joke of a law enforcement organisation? That's only not seen as good since the vast majority of Equestria's population are incredibly loyal to the government and law abiding citizens. Think about it, if the crime rate is at virtually zero, why would you need to invest into a great law enforcement organisation? Seem to be more of a ceremonial organisation, if anything.

I just want to start out by saying that BABSCon 2016 was an absolute blast. It was great reuniting with friends from last year, and meeting new friends to look forward to seeing in the years to come.
After watching this weeks episode, I can say that I emphasize hugely with Princess Luna. As someone whom has worked a night shift job I can explain exactly what Luna's night is like.
1) The job is BORING. You will get lonely, and you will start talking to yourself to keep your mind active. If anyone catches you and says that you're acting weird, just them that you do it because you prefer intelligent conversation.

After finally trying Apex Legends, I can say that I don't understand the allure of battle royale.
More than that, I'm rather annoyed, frustrated, and angry that it's so popular, that people somehow consider this a fun experience.
Some games you land alone, where you scrounge for supplies for eight minutes, until you bump into an enemy squad and get slaughtered in 15 seconds.
Another game you land with an enemy squad and survive for a total of 30 seconds.
I'm looking for a story where a wicked villain tries to turn the Royal Sisters into mindless bimbos so that he can rule Equestria through them. Does anyone know one?

I really don't get it. I get a funny scene in my head of someone from the Royal Guard assuming another pony wanted to join the Royal Guard Academy, only to realise that it's actually Gallus, a griffon, and gets flustered because its something that has never happened before. I post it on Wednesday afternoon, and by the end of the day it got less than 20 upvotes and just over 100 views, and I was perfectly happy with that.

We may have had a moment here or there, like when she laughed at Discord’s joke about Twilight’s bad flight skills, but here’s an episode where she has a realistic character flaw and it is resolved well. I know a lot of people were waiting for that; frankly, I was worried they’d keep Celestia at arm’s length for the whole show run.
As should be obvious from 15 months without a feature, life has taken the Royal Canterlot Library curators in different directions. While there’s still plenty of awesome stories being written in the My Little Pony fandom, we’re no longer actively working to spotlight them, and it’s time to officially draw the project to a close.
This week I had the honour of having Breaking News and Weather featured by the Royal Canterlot Library. And the fun of doing the interview to accompany this, which you can read here. It's really great to get one of my stories placed among the best pony fiction, and nice to have done one
At this point, I am not even pretending I'm trying to keep to any kind of schedule. I've been friending all week, had no time to watch anything, who cares, it's all Canada's fault.
