Hey everyone, just letting you know that I fixed an issue where the link to Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Group in the author's notes went to the wrong page. It was a copying error on my part, but it's fixed now.
So, to anyone who's been following the steady flow of garbage I've been writing, you're probably aware I've been active in the Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Group over the last few months.
So this one was written for Quills and Sofas fic contest a little while back. A week or two.
There were three prompt words, and you had to use two of them. The three words were accidental, denied, and intertwined.
Since I’m an overachiever, I naturally used all three.

Slightly over a week since Everfree Northwest 2023, so it still counts, right? Anyway.
So, I’m back with these blog posts, not only out of a presumed obligation (don’t worry, I’d stop if I hated doing this), but also because I really like talking about my influences. This is mainly because Amethyst has an origin story that I love, which eventually disappointed me because I couldn’t replicate that feeling.
But let’s start earlier, shall we?

Written for the 100th Quills and Sofas speedwriting event!
I didn’t even make it in the top three, but I don’t feel bad about that. There was a lot of strong competition.
I feel a little strange writing these sorts of things for speedwrites.
I mean, I wrote it in an hour, there was no preconceptional or conceptual phase. There is only an execution, writing, and review phase.
But I’m still going to damn well try.
Part of the process, of course, is starting.
Enjoy this short comedy based on the prompt "The Stars Are Gone." Somehow it won! It's based on my annoyances with being a public school teacher, and it's also my first story to feature Starlight in a significant role!
