Anyone ever actually read a HiE where the human either mentions the need for deodorant or finds some pony analogue for it? I don't think I've ever seen one. Other hygiene products are simple enough to assume, but deodorant seems like a uniquely human need. I don't think ponies would need it, they don't really seem to have a body part like the human armpit. So I have an update, but FIRST let me ask you all for your most memorable train riding experiences? I am currently trying to write a shortfic for Viper Pit's Hybrid Story Contest, and I have decided to have it take place on a train. However, having never really been on a train before, I have no experiences of my own that I would like to use for the story.
I am in Yorkshire this week for a particle physics meeting in Sheffield. Before this, I decided to take a detour to Wakefield, and visited the National Coal Mining Museum, built on the site of Caphouse Colliery, where coal was extracted from 1780 until 1985. This was partly a research trip to learn more about mining for my planned Underground Science book. And partly just an excuse to visit somewhere new and have a fun solo travel adventure.
