Hello, my lovely readers. I'm a bit late with this story, but hopefully you'll forgive me for that. The past few days have kept me busy until about nine o'clock in the evening, and today will be more of the same. I hope to catch up with my releases by tomorrow evening.
Anyway! Today's story is a comedy written with Fourths in mind.
So, past few days have been awful for writing, or really doing anything but housework and making the odd forum reply. But with the next three days off, hopefully I can start getting caught up on Oneshotober a bit and finally do the editing I owe people.
Of course, now that I have time for writing, I keep deciding to not use ideas.
IceboxFroggie and Biker_Dash have both posted blogs about it, and I'm planning on trying my hand at it this year, too.
Greeting, my lovely readers. This marks the first day of my foray into daily publishing, and it wasn't the worst thing ever. I think I might be able to do this. Today's story is a Drama story centered about Rainbow Dash's love life. It serves the dual purpose of being eligible for a Flutterdash contest that I felt like entering. Flutterdash isn't really my favorite pairing, but what can you do?
So, on Day 22 with only 9 one-shots posted, I think it's safe to say I won't be completing the Oneshotober challenge this year.
The main thing has been a lack of time. Factoring in drive time and such, I basically work 10.5-hour days, and I've had really long blocks scheduled at work. Like 10 days straight. Plus there's been a lot that needed to be done in my life other than work, on top of that.
I did another review, changed the tags, refreshed the page... and realized just how close I was to being done with these.
Five standalone fics and one anthology. Then I can write my own stories again. Or jump right into another massive review project.
Depends on how dumb I am.
So, I've been coming up with some story concepts and getting a list ready for October. I am going to start typing these early, because the idea is just to post 31 stories within the month, and I have no idea what my job situation will be by then.

Hello, oh wonderful readers mine. I come bearing news that should interest you, even if it makes me frightfully nervous. As you may or may not know, this coming month is the month of One-shot-ober, in which participating authors publish a one-shot story for every day of the month. I have decided to be one of those participating authors.

Have I ever mentioned it's really weird whenever one of my stories actually does well? Like I never think I'm actually particularly good, so I figure it'll get a couple hundred views at best and then be forgotten.

Oneshotober has become a rather contentious event. It has a reputation, perhaps deserved, for producing unoriginal, poorly-thought-out, hastily-written, and generally unedited fics. But how do they actually stack up?
Because I’m either an idiot or a masochist, I’m going to review them. All of them. Right here.
And here we are again, once more asking the eternal question: is Oneshotober nothing but a generator of mass shitfic? Or does the event hold merit?
Am I an idiot for trying to review so many fics?
The only way to know is to press on.

One is the first part of a you-insert clop thing I'm doing for lulz.
One is clop interrupted by Slice of Life featuring Twilight's parents.
One is Pinkie sad/dark about the mirror pool (yes, I like Too Many Pinkie Pies too much).
One is Soarin/Spitfire clop in an unhealthy relationship.
One is Rarity/Fluttershy futa clop.
One is me turning cosmic horror into a stupid gag again.
Okay, first, somehow I've been in the feature box for two days courtesy a stupid story I wrote about a talking muffin in which nothing actually happens. Clearly, the feature box is broken.
That or I just don't understand you people.
Adding this to blogs for the duration of the contest: my son has been entered in a contest to be the next Gerber baby. Votes and sharing would be appreciated.
I was going to wait and share this in the final Oneshotober review blog, but I'm impatient. It's part of why I wind up actually producing so little writing.
Halloween is coming up, guys. Tumblr is just barely holding back as is; the moment it turns to September 1st, chaos will ensue with spooky gifs and scary skeletons that are raving in graveyards. It will only grow worse as September turns to October, often referred to "Halloween Month".
That is why I am preparing you all for the coming holiday.
