Interesting to note that Google Trends showed a spike for searches for “oubliettes” yesterday. I guess it’s not a word which the young audience encounter every day.
[There is an etymological footnote here (courtesy of Wikipedia): dungeon comes from the French donjon, referring to the tower of a castle. Somehow the English meaning of this changed to mean an underground cell, or the French oubliette.]
Hello there. Another week, another episode. This time around, the mane six are gone and Spike, Big Mac, and Discord of all characters have to find a way to entertain themselves for the night. Hilarity ensues. The way that Spike and Big Mac apparently pass the time while the others are out saving the world is playing a tabletop RPG called 'Ogres and Oubliettes'. As a gamer myself I have spent several days, nights, and weekends playing my own preferred dungeon delving adventure game, Descent.
Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week.
So, I've been trying to learn Pathfinder, since my DnD group is wanting to explore other game systems after all of WotC's shenanigans and I've been pondering what setting to present to my players. As I've been thinking about it and considering the idea of maybe doing a generic fantasy setting... That also tries to put twists on or make fun of existing fantasy tropes.
